    Rebranding

Yeah, I was gone a while. Almost four years... last I checked. Stuff's happened, none of which I want to touch on right now due to the soreness still present. Just know that it involves family deaths and suffering both physical and emotional... not to mention the current political, biological, and sociological climate affecting the world, which has already left scars on me. I am very much lucky

Howdy Folks. Garnot here once again writing to ya'll 'bout some recent events that have transpired since my last post. So let's get this going without any further ado.

First of all, to those who have recently followed me. I give you my deepest and most sincere thanks.

Your follows let me know that I have been doing something good so far. If you haven't already done so, drop by and give me a nice 'howdy' or whatever you do to pay greetings.

Now, we get on to the real world events.

The first major event, one that has affected my progress with work (and taken another sizable chunk from my already injured wallet) is my recent computer trouble. The system has been acting up, and has made working online a hassle, as it keeps dropping the internet connection and freezing the system. Had it diagnosed and discovered that many of the core drivers had been corrupted. The reason likely being virus related, but it could just as well be the system's age starting to show. After all, many of the components still in use were salvaged from my older system whose hard-drive went up in flames. What could be saved was re-used, and the results have been wonderful up to this point. Just in case, back-ups of files were created just in case failure was an option, so even if my system does experience total existence failure, my works will at least not give up the ghost along with it. It will slow work down for sure, but it will continue. As it stands, delays are to be expected, but it should hopefully be nothing too major.

Unlike the events that took place just five days ago, events that claimed my brother's left hand. Due to certain events at his school, my brother suffered a major injury to the left hand that resulted in major bone damage. The accident was severe enough that he required surgery in order to have said damage repaired. The surgery took place on Friday the 4th of September (for those that may ready this at a later date). I'm happy to say there were no complications, but the damage to my family's finances was... concerning. Even with insurance coverage, the overall operation still ended up costing 2,000 dollars. From what I have been told by my folks, about half of that has already been covered, but the rest remains yet to be paid. I've offered to help pay some of that, but I'm afraid that it will cut into my budgeting quite a bit. I'm kind of tempted to start a donation for all you fine folks to give some aid, as I have been aided by all of ya'll in the past, but I'm still a bit hesitant on that end. After all, I've never been one to really like to beg without being willing to pay back at a later date. You all tell me what you think of the idea.

Finally, this month signals my next birthday. Now now, I'm not asking for anyone to even consider giving out gifts to me (though if ya'll do, I would certainly not refuse to accept them). Instead, I believe I'm going to take a page from my good friend Prak and instead toss my very own Hobbit Birthday Party.

That's right, that means that this birthday, the one where I officially pass the quarter marker in my life, I'll be giving YOU presents. It's may way to thank everyone who has followed me up to this point, and has given me a reason to keep writing—even if it’s not at a pro level. Yet (still working on that. Stay tuned to hear how that goes, heh). Keep your ear to the ground in the coming days for the announcement on just what day I'll be tossing my party. I'll give you all more details on just how I'll distribute the gifts (which will most likely be video games. except perhaps for a very few special folk who deserve something more substantial).

And that about covers events that have recently happened. Everything from my last blog still applies. Perhaps double now. Regardless, hope you all have a good day/evening, and I'll be speaking to you all again very soon.
