The Inky Jay Story Rededication

Hey all, if you guys thought Lapis’ been quiet lately, I can’t imagine what you think’s happened to me. Heh. Well, I’ll not go into the details as I’m fairly certain I’ve done as much in a prior blogpost. Unfortunately, while I’d like to say this post is me starting writing again in earnest, welp I can’t. Twelve hour work days are still a thing, but instead of trying to justify my lack of updates, I’ve decided to cue you guys in on my plan of attack.

Even if it’s only a little bit, I’ve decided to put my foot down and write every day. While this doesn’t let me give a definitive time set for when new chapters and/or stories will be released, I can at least say I’m making progress.

But onto the stories themselves. For those of you who knew it was a thing, Destiny’s Hues has been recalled. But fret not for those who were interested to see it continue. I’ll be reworking 29 Hearts, Ace of Spades anyway, and as part of that redesign, a fair few of the ideas and themes from Destiny’s Hues will find their way into the revised 29 Hearts, Ace of Spades.

Marks of Harmony: ReMastered is my lovechild. It is a very difficult story to write and for reasons that are mildly amusing when it comes to my writing tendencies, it also requires I have Lapis supervising my every key tap (not literally of course) to be sure the story doesn’t go off the rails. With these things severely hampering the speed I feel comfortable writing this new Marks, I’ll be moving to being a strictly weekend project to give it the proper attention it deserves.

And speaking of Marks, way, way back before Lapis and I even joined accounts (gimme a shout anyone who can remember when that went down), a side story to the original Marks was created called Lurve Eatery. It’s first two chapters are actually still posted, but it never went farther than that. NO MORE! Lurve Eatery too is being rebooted and separated out from its connections to the original Marks. The concept and ideas are going to the same for those that enjoyed it, so no worries there. But as my first stab at independent romantic clop… this could go either way.

Now, I’m sure you all have been (maybe… hopefully?) waiting for new story announcements. Well, here we go, served as best they can be without being fully developed just yet. In the first slot will be a story set in the same alt. universe as First Seconds (you guys liked that one right?) exploring the blooming of Fleetfoot and Big Mac’s relationship. Next up is a fic whose emotional direction/theming haven’t been set in stone but which will explore Diamond Tiara realizing she is one of only a very select group of Earth ponies able to wield their magic in a way similar to unicorns. And lastly, I have the germ of an HiE… Oh, put the pitchforks down. You guys trust me and Lapis right? Or, at least Lapis’ ability to keep me in line. Anyhow, I won’t got into specifics on this one because of the pitchforks but it is on the workbench for those who want to see it.

Anyway, that’s all for Inky. Gotta get writing like I promised myself.
