The latest chapter in my strange journey exists solely because Crystal Wishes commented, "I demand a spin-off of the poor receptionist's search for love in all the wrong places." I thought this might be a pretty hilarious premise so I decided to try and flesh out our new Star. I ran into a few problems here. The comedy element was a lot funnier when seen from the outside instead of from Solitary Star's perspective. Just how crushing would it be to always be searching for someone else and even worse than getting shut down, simply being ignored. If I hadn't chosen his point of view to write I likely could have spun out a much much longer tale with a misunderstanding of the week format. Trying to get in his head though caused me to instead try to close out his story as quickly as possible as the feeling of being in his head was not all sunshine and ice cream.
Despite that I managed to stick a few easter eggs in the story which pleased me greatly as well as provide some cross story continuity between this and 'Write or Wrong'. As a whole I don't regret writing it as it was an experience, but I think I am much more inclined to light hearted fair and delicious action.
As usual scroll down for the notes I used in my process.

Name: Solitary Star
Gender: Male
Race: Unicorn
Coat: Light yellow (lemonchiffon / #FFFACD)
Mane / Tail: Silvery-blue
Cutie Mark: 3 moons and 3 star orbiting an empty place
Has been searching his entire life for a mare or stallion to be with. He has been many things during his quest, an astronomer, a pastry chef, even a brief stint on the rodeo circuit. Currently he is a receptionist at Mare's Monthly because he figured somepony there might know how to find his true love.
While talking to one of his co-works they tell him to see a mare named Lovey-Dovey for help. After seeing her he is even more confused than before. She tells him that he is like nothing she has even seen before, but somewhere out there someone is waiting for him.
The gist of what Lovey sees is that hundreds maybe even thousands of love lines (small ones) are trying to connect to him while his tries vainly to reach back. One large line though is also pointed right to him and any time one of the smaller lines approaches it slaps it away.
BEGIN OUTLINE
Brief background about Solitary. Likely open story with him getting up for another day of searching like he has done his whole life.
Montage looking back.
An astronomer looking across the cosmos for somepony
A pastry chef looking for love one dessert at a time (I love eclairs and pies)
A rodeo hand everyday chasing but never finding his match
Lovey-Dovey scene see character bio above.
Use bird analogies, Bird of Prey, Like an eagle swooping down to protect its nest, Fast as a diving falcon.
Need to include joke- While Lovey-Dovey is examining him from all angles, all angles, "Have you ever heard of personal space?" Spinning her head right side up she looked at him, "Personal Space, Personal Space, nope, maybe you could introduce us sometime."
Reverse the Written Word scene
Takes a lunch break saddened and looking to find solace at the bottom of a mug of hot coco.
At the cafe runs into another who is down on their luck
They talk about their troubles
Their eatery in Canterlot recently burned to the ground and they are here for a fresh start
They hit it off
The Geralynn (female gryphon) asks if he would like to get together again sometime.
Solitary wakes up from his dream.
