Changelings can't measure love · 2:55pm Aug 13th, 2015
In "Canterlot wedding" episodes, when Chrysalis faced Celestia and overpowered her, changeling queen was surprised. Really surprised. And then she got it - "Shining Armor's love is so strong, that now I am more powerful than Celestia!". So she didn't knew it before. So she can't measure power and quantity of stolen love. If we assume that she's normal, healthy changeling, not some kind of cripple, the logical conclusion will be that changelings can't measure love by any method, including the feeling of hunger or fullness. And that makes sense: many predators from Earth can't feel fullness, and with enough food they'll eat 'till they die.
So their social structure and behavior may be strongly affected by this fact. For example, it's possible that no matter what, they are always hungry and always search for new victims for love-stealing. Or they are never hungry nor full, and can tell that there's not enough love in their tummies only when they're start dying from malnourishment. So they're in constant fear that they haven't enough love and... always in search for new victims for love-stealing.
Also, there might be pretty interesting eating habits in peaceful times. Like "eat a little, pass meal to next in the circle, until food is no more". And eating circles must be strictly counted, like 5-8 changelings, so everybuggy will be fed equally, even if there's very little food (for example, pony don't have much love inside).
