    Not dead yet

I'm sure some folks are thinking that I gave up writing fanfic completely. I've just been really busy running conventions and general life stuff.

    Back from BronyCon

I'm home after a very long and extremely fun week in Baltimore. I say week, because it was a lot more than just the weekend. I had a most enjoyable time meeting a whole bunch of fimfic people, and I even got to hang out and talk for more than five minutes some of the time.

I'm home after a very long and extremely fun week in Baltimore. I say week, because it was a lot more than just the weekend. I had a most enjoyable time meeting a whole bunch of fimfic people, and I even got to hang out and talk for more than five minutes some of the time.

As most may already know, I caught the bug to help out in VIP Relations—a very rewarding and very exhausting position at a convention like BronyCon, Everfree Northwest, or BABSCon. This time around, I was also able to get out of the car and cut my chops on hosting the show writers panel on the Mane Events stage. It was a last minute thing, but I think we pulled it off. If you saw it live, or if you catch it when BronyCon posts the panels to their YouTube account, let me know what you think of how it ran. For me, it was probably the top highlight of the convention.

Thank you to SR Foxley for the dinner party with all the sexy writers! It was very much appreciated, and I had a great time hanging out with everyone that made it to the table.

Skeeter was too busy getting more food that he couldn't poke his head in for the group pic. It happened multiple times with two different cameras. Here he is anyway:

The other big things that I wholly enjoyed were the gifts:

I gave a camera case of sharpies to both M. A. Larson and Kelly Sheridan. I foamed out the inside and created a track in the both the lid and the base of the case to present MANY options for those inclined to sign their name to anything and everyone they come in contact with. Larson's "Larsonal" included "The Magnum", which he used to sign my arm at the start of the writer's panel.

He put them to good use right away.

Foal Papers turned the tables on him.

Kelly's "Arsenal" included a couple of paired sets of black sharpies in various sizes, which she put to good use in "equalizing" everyone she could.

I also arranged for a special gift to be delivered to one ILoveKimPossibleALot by the fantastic John de Lancie himself. It happened to be a Logitech® HD Pro Webcam C920. KP was thrilled, and we should soon be enjoying her new full HD video feed in the upcoming Bronies React videos and much more. I'll let her share the video of the exchange if she chooses.

Overall, it was a wonderful time that went by way too fast. My ear still feels like it has a security mic in it. My feet are partially swollen, although I did take care to follow my Con Regimen (an advil every morning and a lot of protein/water) which significantly alleviated the inflammation that would have occurred otherwise. I made a bunch of new friends and saw a lot of older ones again. Can't wait for next year! Hope you all join us then.

It was a lot of fun, and glad I got to meet you! Still can't believe it took me so long to remember who you were though. Ug, I'm terrible with names. :raritydespair:

This is wonderful! Thank you so much for posting this, Thornwing. Frankly, I'm just a tad envious that I couldn't be there with you and all of the other wonderful Bronies and Pegasisters but my envy is nothing, a mere speck compared to the delight I feel knowing you had an awesome time!

I love the pictures! Everyone looks so happy, downright joyous! But, then, that's the very heart of our wonderful community, isn't it?

Thank you again for sharing this with us.

I want to go to BronyCon so badly. Somebody take me next year!

Man, I remember thinking I was never gonna meet you. But thankfully destiny conspired in my favor. I'll have to thank her for that. And whaaaaat, you hosted the writer's panel? Crap. I missed that because the wallet-drainer vendor hall had its vice-like grip about me, and after an epic, four hour struggle I escaped.

Go get some rest, thornwing, you definitely deserve it. I know your feet feel they do.

omg I am so jealous XD You must of had so much fun at bronycon! I'm hoping to go to a brony convention next year, if I'm lucky. I wish I had gotten to go, we could have fan into each other
