Seriously, my latest fic and it already has a dislike.

I feel cheated. The bastard didn't even tell me why he disliked it. Everyone ELSE has liked it so far... *sigh* How am I supposed to improve when people won't tell me what's wrong?

Meh, probably some jerk that didn't like me passing him on the Popular Stories page. D: RIGHT GUYS?! RIGHT?!!!

I didn't dislike your story, but I sill didn't like it. Those genres don't appeal to me in the slightest, and even though you're one of my favorite writers, you didn't make it any better.
I'd rather you stick with your true comedic talent.

I have been baffled by anonymous thumbs down since I started here. It's one of the most frustrating things about trying to write stuff. If people don't like one's work, that's fine, but honestly, they could at least take five seconds to type out a quick reason why.

Ah, well. Big fan of yours, man. Haven't peeked at the latest because "sad/dark" isn't really to my tastes without some lighter elements to soften the blow, though. Looking forward to seeing more of your rewritten masterwork, but by all means, don't rush it either. True quality takes time!

But I never dislike stories. I just don't rate them at all if I don't read them.

I didn't dislike it, but then again I didn't read it either. Nor do I plan to. I have very little doubt that it's a good, maybe even a great, story, but I just tend to avoid stories that are labeled Sad/Dark without any Comedy to balance them out.

I think it probably was someone that was just upset that your story pushed their story down or didn't like the genre of the story.

I find it quite annoying when stories with thirty 1k chapters keep pushing your 10k word chapters down and out of the spotlight but I always at-least read the story before passing judgement upon it.

And then there is the genre... it would seem that any and all stories delving into sad/dark or (especially this) humans, make people just thumb it down for that alone.

But if they see a combo of those things...
