Foalcon might technically be legal, but there are people who would hurt people that write it, or the sites that host it. After getting blocked from here by CloudFlare for the umpteenth time, I start to look for ways to protect myself from that, and in turn protecting Fimfiction from any such malicious action. So, I thought I’d share what I found, for what it’s worth.
There’s this interesting project called Freenet. It’s basically a big pile of blocks that everyone shares, and you can assemble these blocks into files. Every block is encrypted, so that people without the decryption key can still host the files, without being able to know what they are.
It’s really slow, for three reasons. Firstly, since nobody can tell where one file starts and another stops, everyone has equal access, including the idiots pushing big dumb movie files, and any malicious people who want to stop Freenet from working. And secondly, if you download a file, and only one single site has that file, you sorta know where that file was produced. So Freenet first makes sure a bunch of sites have the file, and getting that agreement takes time. And thirdly, it’s an infamous project, so not many are willing to work on it.
So, I’ve been playing with Freenet, and I recommend you at least familiarize yourself with it, in case you want to publish something that no site on the Internet will allow, or you might feel forced into putting someone in danger by asking them to help you without privacy or protection.

I am a big advocate of free speech and archiving things on the internet... I dunno. Some of the things I've written, which aren't here, ore read could be considered very grey. Sorry if you're having a tough time, also sorry that my group technically doesn't allow Straight to Belle. But I honestly think it keeps bad stories (or smut) out, not that yours is, but... hopefully you get what I mean.
Wait... so people hack into FiMfiction and try to stop you from uploading your chapters? is that what I'm getting? I'm sorry I am not knowledgeable of browser or website based things, but I can go on for hours about your internet and how I will shut it off.
It's remarkable how willing people can be to abandon their principles on what 'thought policing' is when it isn't used on their own ideals.
