This is really sad · 4:06am Jul 24th, 2015
I have no idea why people won't read my stuff anymore. It's not the quality of writing going down; that's just not possible. Is it because I've been here a year and a half and haven't been featured once? Do people look at author profiles before they look at stories?
But if it's just people not reading my stories, I could take it.
It just feels like I'll never make an impact here. I'm still here, but nobody wants to read my writing. I look for an editor, but nobody wants their name attached to something unpopular. I offer to be a reviewer, and I'm "not qualified". I offer to be an editor or a pre-reader, but nobody wants an obscure author doing that stuff for them. They even accuse me of being a bad writer. I offer to do art, and of course it's not good enough because I'm no artist. What's there left to do? I want to be involved, but apparently I'm not good enough for anything.
Everyone plays their part in life, you're playing yours. The same goes for this website, you play your part and give certain things to the website, your stories. It's not that people don't read them, it's that people don't see them. If you go and advertise your story in many places by adding it to every group you can and advertising it with more wording and anticipation for the audience, you'll get more people to see it.
I can't give much advice, but make sure to advertise, and do it well, then you get more readers![](https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/twilightsmile.png)
also, people won't read stories that have less views, idk why, but it's true
3264934 the problem I've always had with advertising is that I always end up getting all of my downvotes after I advertise. And my most popular stories didn't need any kind of advertising anyways. If it's not being noticed, advertising doesn't do any good.
I'd recommend getting some mentors. Everyone needs 'em.
Virtual mentors can be found easily; for writing, check out some good books (my recommendation being GoT series, or if you'd rather stay on-site check something out like FO:E or Past Sins)
As for art, check out video tutorials/just looking and following people on deviantart. Given the right equipment, it should be a better learning experience.
After that, I'd recommend just keep trying. Don't do it as a 'trial and error' exercise; that'll take too long. Make sure you know what you're doing, and keep continuity.
Trust me; if you've got true skill in any area, you can use it to your advantage and be successful. You've just got to plan it out!
3265402 I'm not sure what to say, I guess just keep practicing, and talk to friends about it, you'll get it eventually
