Chapter 16 of Basements of Doom is Out, and A 'State of the Story' Report · 9:35pm Jul 22nd, 2015
Many of you did not get any alerts that there was a new chapter. Sorry about that. However, Basements of Doom did spend a good long time on the front page last night. The glitch that lets all my updates get into the feature box seems to be even more broken than before. This chapter is a little more personal and rather less exciting than recent chapters (Quiz needed the break, and sometimes I am merciful). Her life isn't in danger until the very end this time.
The story has expanded a bit once again. The planned second half of chapter 16 is now chapter 17. This isn't exactly unchecked and wildly out of control growth, but it does appear that I have more to say than I thought (or, at least, that I am saying more than I thought I would). Just how big is Basements likely to grow? I guess to between 70 and 80 thousand words total.
Work is going to continue to get in the way of my writing, and I foresee new chapters continuing to take two or three weeks to finish. That is not going to change before Labor Day. Again, sorry about that.
I hope to see some of you at Bronycon. I may or may not have Quiz with me - I love to have her with me to show her off, but she wasn't built to travel (the last time I took her to Bronycon I lost her glasses). Please enjoy chapter 16, "Interesting Questions."
Aw, and I loved meeting her last time!

As for the story's growth, I refuse to get upset because we are getting more Quiz.
