Good News and Bad News. · 10:50pm Jul 1st, 2015
Goods news is I finished the meat of the next chapter.
Bad news is I forgot to factor in editing time for my estimates. This isn't normally an issue with my stories since editing usually amounts to correcting grammar errors with no serious mistakes. Any mistakes that are pointed out are usually a matter of preference or interpretation. There was no way to deny the overload of information in this chapter when I reread the final draft I was about to send to the editors. I don't really think info dump is the right word for it though. There's too many small things being expounded on from a bunch of areas. I'm currently double checking my wording and pacing, but short of redevising the whole chapter it'll still be too much if I give you everything at once. Thus I'm going to try splitting the chapter up to avoid culture shock. The first part should meet my approval in th next day or so and should pass editing faster than usual since it's shorter. After I do that with all of this chapter I'm going back to split but not replace the earlier chapters and then I'll start the new chapter. I'll want the whole thing done before I split it In parts though so you should start to end up with a couple months of nothing and then a giant split up chapter where you can read parts at your leisure, stopping for a break if the whole things too much info.
