This Weeks Episode: Party Pooped · 9:16pm Jun 27th, 2015
Can I just say Pinkie Pie's the best pony, drop the mic, and walk away?
No, that won't fly? Alright, but I'm doing this on MY TERMS! Namely listening to the Thomas Episode Bulldog because there was a scene that made me think of the pure awesome of Duke.
I'll show you simply what makes this amazing.
(I dare repeat DARE you to look me in the eyes and say that is not pure awesome, man Thomas used to be amazing...)
Anyway, we get a quick explanation that representatives of the Yak's are coming and this whole thing about how long Equestria had been separated from them.
The yaks come and say about perfection in a very barbarian speech pattern which throws me off because I mean that speech does not make me think perfection, it makes me think charging into battle swinging an ax yelling DWARF! (Oghren is best dwarf! Nothing much to do with anything, just something I feel the need to say every once in a while.)
Anyway, Pinkie was oddly enough the only one to read the book on Yaks Twilight recommended, so it fell on her to make sure everything was to the yaks liking.
First bedding, namely sleeping in AJ's barn because they aren't for fancy frivolities, but it wasn't yak hay so smash.
Animals in yak horns? Not actual horns smash.
Snow? Nope, smash.
Rarity's cloth doesn't taste good because it's not yak, smash. (Yeah they smash a lot of things.)
Anyway, Pinkie comes to the logical decision to bring something back from their homeland, so off to the rails to the Crystal Empire.
Meanwhile, back in Ponyville Pinkie's missing because as noted she's on her way to the far north, also the yaks smash a cake.
Anyway, sheep on the track at Dodge Junction, so Pinkie hitches a ride with Cherry Jubilee, remember her? Atypical southern belle, runs a cherry orchard, AJ worked for her for a bit after failing to get any blue ribbons at a rodeo, remember?
Anyone? Meh, anyway off to the empire.
But everyone falls asleep from having spent all night counting cherries and nearly plunge off a cliff which is what reminded me of Bulldog (SO FREAKING AWESOME I mean Duke was just holding onto Sir Handle while dangling off a freaking cliff and just pulling back do they didn't fall down and probably freaking die!)
Back in Ponyville the yaks are not pleased and are gonna return to their kingdom, also declare war so that's a thing.
Anyway, Pinkie explains what happened in another monologue to herself, the Wonderbolts saved them, dropped them in Manehatten, Pinkie joined pony beetles, they broke up (side note, Pinkie was the drummer therefor Ringo, therefor will become the orignal Mr. Conductor, someone draw that please
).
Anyway, Cadence brings Pinkie to the mountain that separates them, and back to Ponyville.
Secret underground center that proves Pinkie is Batman because she seriously spends so much time planning all parties, and has files on everypony, side note here's a gif of Fluttershy reading Twilight's, long story short greatest fear ever.
Not gonna question it, just gonna enjoy it.
Anyway, Pinkie embraces her inner Bugs Bunny the most she has since Bats, pops out of the ground, sees some snow cat, eventually runs into a young yak and rides the sleigh, but things happen and she slides back to Ponyville.
Pinkie finds out the gang found her secret party cave, and realizes what had been wrong.
The yaks were gone, but you know what? SHEEP IN THE TRACKS! Boyah, the yaks are stuck at Dodge!
Pinkie throws the party realizing that she shouldn't have been trying to make their home like the yaks, she should have been making the yaks feel at home with Equestria, and everything works out.
So yeah, like any Pinkie episode I know it'll be hit or miss depending on your opinion of her, I'm a fan so I really enjoyed it, also it made me think of Bulldog, and Pinkie as Mr. Conductor... well I thought about that second part while making this but the point remains!
I'm always a huge lover of any world building and the yaks were nice, but I mean they're just odd to me.
They act like Fereldon brutes smashing anything, but Orleasian nobility with an obsession of perfection, but unlike some others,
it's not a best of both worlds, it just kinda throws me off personally.
But still yaks.
