Heart of Stone: anyone want to be a pre-reader/ proof-reader? · 5:00pm Jun 23rd, 2015
As many of you who have read the comment section of The Trixie and Maud: Heart of Stone story will know. I don't have any editor's, pre readers, or proof readers for the story. I have some wonderful people who help me out in the comment section, but I've been wanting somebody to be able to review my chapters before I post them so that I can fix any error's, story wise or other, before posting.
If anyone is interested, you should know that I have a few things I'm looking for in an proofreader. I am willing to work with somebody on these, so no worries.
1. I am sorry, but I really don't want to go back and edit my story all the way from chapter one. I am aware of some of my large blunders but I really don't want to go back and edit 200k words.
2. I'm also trying to finish this project soon, so that I can begin work on my next big Trixie story. So I don't want to wait too long between chapter posts. (if it took too long, I might just forget important elements of the story.) I understand people's schedules so I can work with you on these. My aim would be a chapter once every week or two, and since the chapters are generally pretty small it shouldn't be too much of a hassle... I hope.
3. Grammar may be important, but what I'm really looking for is someone to help me tell a better story. So large focus on the story itself.

ps, if we can work something out, I might even be willing to draw a picture for the new editor. This is totally not a bribe, it's more like an incentive.
Your update speed scares me on occasion, but if you are planning to dial it back to once every week or two, I'm game for working with you on this.
I've got a little bit of experience with proofreading and editing, but not much.

I would not mind helping you with the story side of things. I will be frank. As far as grammar goes if Pages or Word do not catch it than its not important to me.
I like this ship a lot and feel like its one of the more unique ones on this site. My two cents on character development, story arcs, and pacing would be what I would offer.
