MCU: Ava DuVernay tapped to direct Black Panther, with an option for Captain Marvel · 5:37pm Jun 22nd, 2015
For those of you who don't know who Ava DuVernay is, she is the lady who directed last years Martin Luther King Jr. biopic Selma, which was one of the best films of the year. She is also the first African American woman to be nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Director, although she was snubbed for the Oscar.
Either way, Marvel tapped her to direct the upcoming Black Panther movie, which makes me a very happy man.
BRING IT ON
Didn't we already know about this? I thought I heard something like this a while ago.
Anyway, which of the two films would you rather her helm?
3171480 In a perfect world, both, but since Black Panther has to do with Africa and all, and I don't want it get all political and such, I'd say Black Panther.
Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty, Strange Days) would be perfect for Captain Marvel, should they choose a female director. Or Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad).
3171541 I'll take your word for it.
Neat. I still need to watch Selma.
