Seen this attitude go around that bugs me. When people write a story and then just expect people to draw art for their stories. What a terrible attitude to have. Like I know 5 FoE stories that are popular enough to get fan art: The original, Horizons, Heroes, Pink Eyes and MN7. To just expect fanart from the moment you post your story is shitty. Or just expecting someone to draw you a cover. Art is just like writing. It takes effort and time. They're both developed skills. You can't just ask someone to do it for free. There's art for my story and almost every piece of it was commissioned by me because I'm a visual person and I like seeing my characters. Only non-comissioned art I have is a couple cameos I won in an ask blog. If you want art for your story you pay for it. You don't expect it. That's fucking rude. Rid yourself of this way of thinking children. I do understand that not everyone has the means to buy commissions but that doesn't excuse a bad attitude. If you want actual fan art you better write a damn good story and don't just expect it because that is shitty.
On another note. I'm thinking about trying my hand at drawing again. I stopped drawing for the same reason I stopped writing. People in school talked shit, hurt myself esteem and I stopped. Well I started writing again and wow it feels fuckin' good. And I've gotten an okay response to my story. So yeah, drawing's the next thing. Tomorrow I'm gonna buy a sketch book and supplies and start at the beginning.
And to finish my art ramble, all the art I have ever commissioned for Dirty Deeds. Enjoy.
First we have my cover art drawn by a good friend of mine, TheImmolatedPoet. Great guy. Check out his story. Wonderful picture. Nailed each and every character down and has since served as the basis for every picture to follow.
After that I got concept art of an upcoming Dirty Deeds character: JiJi. JiJi is a highly sarcastic Zebra bounty hunter and member of a group known as the Freaky Five, A gang of bounty hunters whose gimmick is that they all have weird abilities. JiJi''s ability is to strike her opponents secret pressure points and make them explode. Like Fist of the North Star ya know. Her personality is more based off of Raoul from New Vegas with the constant sarcasm and Vinny from Atlantis's deadpan wit. Cannot wait to introduce her. This is concept art. Her actual appearance will differ from this. Specifically she'll be more dirty and gruff looking as well as having a different cutie mark.
"Would you like to see how I got my cutie mark?" This is Sweetheart. Sugar's arch rival. Kind of the opposite in personality of Sugar. Very polite and well mannered, even when she intends to kill you. Just as smart as Sugar in most areas and just as ruthless. Just like Sugar she likes to use weapons way too big for her, like an anti-material rifle. She's gonna be fun to write too.
And here's some fantastic art of the killer filly herself: Sugar Baby, done by Interloper. Sugar's mean, intelligent and has got a terrible potty mouth. I basically took Revy from Black Lagoon and Hit Girl from Kick Ass and mushed them together to get her. She's my favorite.
Another Interloper piece we got Skitz, the muscle of the gang. My most mysterious character and my favorite to write. Skitz has a past, don't ask her about it. Most of the time she's quiet and looks like an absent minded ditz. Ask her too many questions though and she starts to get pissed and she's the last pony you want to piss off. Crazier than the rest and skills to match, Skitz was actually based off of Riddick from the Chronicles of Riddick series with a very weird twist thrown in.
Her we have a little cute, chubby version of Scar. Scar is kind of the voice of reason within the group. She's one who thinks things through and defuses situations that get out of hand (hoof. Cuz horses durr!) she's necessary to complete the quirky trio trope ya know. The Double D to Skitz and Sugar's Ed and Eddy. The Inigo to Fezzik and Viccini. She's kind of boring to write but she's still my baby. Love her to death.
Oh my god. Just look at Sugar here. She's fuckin' adorable. And so devious. I love this picture so much.
This is how Skitz looks the majority of the time. Just a quiet, smiling ditz. Remember the craziest people are the ones who don't know they're crazy.
Oh no. It's Sortilege. Who is she? Only I know for I have yet to dive deep into her character development. As of now she's just another stable pony. One whose worth a million caps. Who will she become? Another wasteland savior perhaps? Will she help our girls see the errors of their ways and help them become better ponies? Will she save the wasteland? Save it from what? Is there there anything wrong with it at all? Does the wasteland need a savior? Maybe she's a savior...or maybe she's the devil incarnate. Maybe even both. Who's to say the wasteland needs to change at all?
Hey it's the whole gang...as people?! Whaaaaaa? I love this artists attention to detail. Like adding the dashite brand to their arm or making Sorts really pale. Fantastic.
R-r-r-rise and sh-shine mother f-f-f-fuckers! Rise N' Shine. What an oddball. Will she succeed in creating a device to save all of Equestria? No. We already know she won't All we can do is sit back and watch the poor stuttering mare fail in the end. Maybe there's hope though. Maybe Rise N' Shine's efforts weren't wasted. Guess we'll just have to see.
Having a good time Sort? Smokin' Grass was based off a friend of mine and really grew on me as a character. He's so fun to write. Also check it out! It's Lampy! RIP Lampy. Lost...and probably forgotten but yeah.

And here is the leader of the group, Freaky. Freaky is a Canterlot Ghoul, bored with her immortality, she took up bounty hunting to pass the time. She loves a good challenge. That skeleton is "Gingganggongdedogondelagaraga" and elemental spirit bound to Freaky. It's made of pink cloud and she can bend it too her will. Combine that with her tenacity and intelligence and she's a pretty damn formidable foe. She was raised by a wandering Zebra priestess. Tat's why she's got the jewelery and powers. She also speaks with a patois accent. Based in part off of Tia Dahlma from Pirates of the Caribbean.
That's all the art I got. Paid for every piece. Worth every penny. If you haven't checked out Dirty Deeds yet, please do. It's a fun read, so I'm told and is just gonna get funner. Chapter 7 should be out soon...ish. I'm currently really struggling but it's at least halfway done. TTFN! Ta ta for now!
