Graduation, Writing tips for the Ill Equipped Fanfic Writer, and Bite me · 10:35pm May 23rd, 2015
You smell that, that is the smell of a free man. I am officially done with high school, and my diploma (which is slightly misspelled) proves it. I've went through four years of performing arts school, trying to perfect my writing, and now I need to decide what I want to do with that information.
Bottom line is, I want to be a reviewer. Not one of the big corporation sell-outs, but someone who knows what they're talking about, and can actually support their point instead of just spouting it out. And I've been reading up and learning how to do just that. So I thought I might as well put these skills to use and lend a hand to my fellow fanfiction writers. And so, I will be posting blogs from now on that tackle some of the major problems that show up in writing fanfiction. Not just fan fiction though, some of these problems are ones that can leak into other forms of writing as well, so it's best to curb them now.
I'll be doing these blogs in the form of reviews, that means I'll be scouring both this website and Fanfiction.net for stories that reflect some of the worst in fanfiction and some of the best. Rooting out mistakes people continuously make when writing fanfics and stories that show how to correct them or do them right. So if you guys have a story in mind that you think really needs a look at, or a technique or trope that needs some analyzing, comment below and I'll look into it.
Now some of you may ask, what does that mean for Bite Me. Well, plain and simple, I'm graduated, aren't I? Plus it's the summer here, and due to circumstance, I don't really have to look very far for a job, that pays decently with flexible hours. So I have a boat load of time on my hands. Time to work more on Bite me and other projects that have been crossing my mind. Perhaps I can finally start on those Novels I've been thinking about. So you could take that as I'm going to be working more or that I'm going to have less time on my hands. The important thing you should know is that I'm starting on the next chapter as of now.
