It's been a while since I've posted or really done much of anything besides read and judge a contest (The 7th Twilestia Contest), so I'm going to update you guys with a few goings-on and a few little proposals.
Story Progess!
I teased a snippet of some SunLight shipping earlier this year. I'm still working on that story but some real life stuff got in the way. I'll get to the RL stuff later. I'm still writing, chapter one is basically done but needs some editing. I have a few other chapters in various stages of being written and complete. Beyond chapter one, right now, what's written is a few scenes at different points in the story's timeline. Chapter two is starting to be written but other parts are further in and need to have some work done to get a consistent, linear story going. If that makes sense.
RL BS
So back in about January, I lost my job. I had some savings set aside and I tried looking for new work. Nothing came of that where I was living, so in March, I moved from Idaho to Washington to be with family. Still working on getting back on my feet here in terms of job searching and settling in. I think I have a new job lined up that allows me to work from home part time, so we'll see what happens there. But it is part time. And I need to do a little better. So...
Commissions and Patreon!
Creating a Patreon for the fanfiction I do here has been an idea I've tossed around for a few months. There's the usual disclaimer of "my content will always be free!" to go with that, but my philosophy in wanting to do something of that nature is that I put a decent amount of work into writing, and I write for the joy of sharing stories. That won't change with Patreon. If you to find out more and help support me, check out my Patreon page!
Additionally, I'm open to the idea of just doing straight up commissions. Some of the Patreon tiers I've set up do involve some bonuses that are commissions, like the $15 and $100 tiers for prompts and chapters respectively. Those are for more regular contributions. If you're just interested in supporting when you can, I'm more than happy to open up my doors for story commissions. There aren't too many hard limits beyond I won't write content that I find disturbing.
And more than just story commissions, I also want to offer handwriting commissions! One of the things I've been doing to get back to writing is to hand write my current and future material for the SunLight story. While I'm no calligrapher, if you're looking to add some punch to your story or just want a cute letter from a character, I'd be delighted to make that happen. To get an idea of what that might look like, check out a couple of examples. And since I write these on physical pages, I can provide you with a physical copy, too! Just cover whatever postage is to you area of the world. USPS First Class International runs about $1.15 US. And if you're already stateside, postage will be even less!
Good to know you're still around! :O
