Eh, this was functional. The characters were as well characterized as in an average episode of the show. Mostly it comes down to I don’t think that pony and the DMV mix together well. This needed to either be a bit shorter, really tightening up the language to make it a brief joke, or much longer. I would have liked a bit more focus on why Rainbow Dash wanted to talk with Fluttershy that day, or seen how RD handles remedial flight school.

I would call this a boilerplate fanfic. Writing is functional. Characters have their expected traits, Dinky is cute and loves her mom, Ditzy is a clumsy mailpony who ponies make fun of, but no depth or complexity beyond that. I spend most of my time reading this thinking about better fanfics. If you are looking for a good ‘Dinky loves her mom’ story I would recommend Family Matters by RainbowDoubleDash of the Lunaverse.

Went into this expecting a bit of lighthearted fun. What I got was something between crazy and kinda mean. The Applejack in this is actually just dumb, as in a farmer who basically runs a large farm doesn’t know what a division sign and struggles with basic elementary school level mathematics. And she lies all over trying to cover up her embarrassment. Plus the Cheerliee here is just plain crazy. Not sure I’d recommend this one. Would love to see one of my favorite authors tackle this as the lighthearted comedy I was hoping for.

Lots of fun. This could be a episode of the show. It would need to be a two-parter, but it would be a fun episode. Lots of audio/visual humor that would work even better on a tv show. Plus it’s something that I could see happening in Equestria. If you’ve got poison joke, you could easily have something that causes the troubles in this story. All the characters were done quite well.

Ack. This was a bit brutal. I kept hoping it the story would have a turn toward the better, but it never does. Not a story for anyone who likes happiness. It starts out depressing and pretty much stays there. Well-written, but I pretty much just felt bad the whole time I was reading it. Also, not sure I would call this pony, since not much of the events/places/themes of the show show up. It is good enough to read, but I would warn it does not have a happy ending, or even just a hopeful one.
