    Discord Server

So I FINALLY got a Discord account.

I'm making a Discord server run by me for the purpose of helping each other out with stories. At least I'll try to. Me vs. technology. -__-

Anywho, message me if you'd like the address.

    Hugs,

    Sorry all

It's been too long since I've posted anything here. I apologize. Short explanation is that I have had a severe set back with my depression that caused me to go in partial hospitalization and quit my job. So I'm very much floating along until I can find something that works for me.

Hello all. Yes, I'm still on hiatus when it comes to fanfiction. However, real life continues to assail me with to-do's. I've a request for you my readers. It's pretty simple, relatively painless, and will hopefully translate into higher quality fanfiction for you to enjoy. ^^

At my college, there's a Senior Capstone class next Fall. This is a really high level writing class that only accepts 6 students per semester. It's taught by one of the English department's best, and it's intensely focused on peer reviews and conferences. As I plan on going into published works after college, I really, REALLY want to get into this class. However, you have to apply to get in. As part of that application, I need to submit a 3500 word story. Talk about nerve wracking! O_O After many hours of frustration, pain, and distractions, I've managed to complete said story.

As this is for an application, I've taken painstaking efforts to make this one of the highest quality as it needs to represent my best work as an author. If I get into this class, I hope to improve my writing even more and give you all better quality fiction to enjoy. However, I don't have nearly enough real life contacts to help me with the level of pre/proof reading I've been spoiled with lately here on fimfiction.

I know this isn't fanfiction, but would you spare a few minutes to pre/proof read this story for me? It's a slice of life, romance short (rated teen for language) and I think it's pretty close to what I normally write for you here on the site. I'd be honored to have your opinion on it.

Here's the link. I've enabled commenting, so if there's anything remiss, anything at all, don't hesitate to point it out.
The Real Deal

Sorry to be a bother, everyone. Q_Q I promise I'll start with the fanfiction once finals are out of the way.

Well, I put my 2 cents in. Not sure how much help I was, but I was glad to help.

I thought it was it was good, not rely my thing, but I think the emotions of the protagonist were well communicated and I I thought that the characters felt genuine. I wish you the best of luck in joining that class, and your endeavor to become a writer. I know all the anxiety you are going trough, I spent an entire year preparing, worrying to be part of a foreign exchange program in Belgian. After working hard the entire year to get the best grade possible, doing my best at university, I was finally accepted, and I spent nearly an entire year overseas. For all the experience that I have lived thought in that period, I wouldn't trade it for the world. But most of all I was proud of my accomplishment of my work. I know you will that succeed in this, if all your work you've done on FiM Fiction is a clue to go by.

I feel like I didn't do enough. Oh well hope it helps.

3027996 3028833 Thanks you two! Every little bit helps. You're the best proof-readers I could ask for.

3028636 Thanks for the encouragement. ^^ I'm really hoping it works out, my current writing teacher thinks I have a good chance at least. Ah, you studied overseas as well! Sounds like it was quite the opportunity. I went to Ireland for a semester and had so much fun.

3029956 blushes well I don't know about THAT but your welcome.

I really liked it! It had a good message about not judging others by their looks, but didn't shove it in the audience's face. The characters were very believable, as well as their motives. And the wording was diverse, but it didn't look like you copied and pasted a Thesaurus into your story. :raritywink: The only problems I had were some of the wording and grammar. But then again, most of that is stylistic and unique to the author. And I've long since come to the conclusion that no one really knows how the English grammar system works anyways.

Keep it up! I hope you get into the class!

I'm not much of a proof reader but I did read the story and enjoyed it very much! I hope you get into writing class! I want to be a professional author as well when I get older. So I can understand how stressful this must be for you. Again hope you get in!
Rock on!
