Alright, so it's finally happened, I, Dollars, find myself with both the time necessary to wright, as well as the gumption to do so. Thus, 'The Plan' shall now commence with the next step! I know that it's been a long hard road, not just for Jake and I, but for all of you as well, this waiting for chapters has been really lousy and I apologize for that, it isn't fair.
This point along with a few others is what I'm here now to discuss. 'The Plan' has been an idea floating around in my head for quite some time now, see, Infinity's End was, as many of you may know, my first published fic, well, ever. As such it started off pretty slow, wandered around, and stumbled over itself from time to time. Updates have been spotty at the best of times, and nonexistent for months on end at the worst. Still, the project struggled on, admittedly I nearly gave up on it several times over, never really having the time for it. Yet, years later I keep dabbling on it, getting a little progress in whenever I could, and surprisingly enough to me, what small amount of feedback I get remains positive. So, here a few months ago I decided something. If I was going to keep working on this thing, I was going to do it right.
Thus, 'The Plan' was born. Right from the beginning I had never been quite satisfied with the way I had started things, just diving in head first and hoping for the best, for a while it worked well enough but the further I got the more I realized just how much more it could have been. I realized how, rushed, it felt.
Realizing these things only drove home the daunting task that lays ahead of me, I kid you not this monster will likely surpass a million words if I wright all of it out the way I want it to go, there's a lot of ground to cover, so, anyone thinking it seems to be drawing to a close, you've seen nothing yet. What I would like to do is this...
Step one: Go back through my own cannon and finalize all the plot important details, there are a few still unaccounted for.
Step two: Correct any plot holes that have been opened simply due to my own unpreparedness, there is at least one, that I know of.
Step Three: The Star Order Chronicles was originally started as a small prequel meant mainly as a way to better explain a few things I accidentally left out of the main story, it was supposed to be small and purposefully left short leading back to events in Infinity's End. That went out the window pretty quick. What's happening now is that it will be redone, expanded, and made into the first in a series, entitled, 'Infinity's End: Times Gone By'.
Step four: Infinity's End: Times Gone By will be completely finished, polished, and pre-read before finally being published on what will probably wind up being a weekly update, eliminating those dang month long waits for chapters.
Step Five: The current version of Infinity's End will be temporarily marked as on hiatus. During the release of Times Gone By, Infinity's End will go through its own revision, similar to what we did with the first chapter nearly a year ago. It too will be refurbished, then completed, edited, and pre-read hopefully not too long after the first one. This newly finished version shall be renamed, Infinity's End: Bonds Undone, and shall take its place as the second book in what is likely to become a series, I currently have plans for at least four...
Step Six: Depending on how things are looking as we approach these events, I'll begin work on them progressively, basically with the intent of keeping just ahead with the releases. These books will likely be rather large, so, wish us luck I guess. Oh! And there are plans for some cover art as well, so keep an ear out for that.
Anyway, that's what's going on around here, just been to busy for anything but sleep the last few months, farm's been nuts, new job's been nuts. Everything has been nuts!
We are trying, just going to need a little bit more time, but personally, I think you will all really like where it's going. I've actually gotten pretty far in my seeming bout of absence, and truth be told. It's absolutely epic. Don't believe me? Just ask Jake...
