Still working on Chapter 9. · 5:34pm Apr 24th, 2015
I saw someone had added Prominence to a bookshelf they'd titled "I wish these would update :(" and I've decided I should address the issue. first and foremost: I'm working on it. but where I used to be able to crank out half a page every morning before work, now I'm struggling to get a sentence or two out. some days I can't come up with anything. I'm stuck in a bit of a creative rut, but I assure you, I'm opening the document and trying to progress every morning.
Still, I'm thinking of foregoing my usual goal of at least 6000 words for the next chapter (I'm 2000 short right now), and just finishing up a day. maybe get into something when someone wakes up but then end it there. Unfortunately, I still have the whole editing process to do.
I know what I need to do to get this back to being easy to write. and I'm sure it's not as hard as I'm making it. I just need to get things back to a point where I can clearly see what actions the characters will take and how each one would respond to the others. for that, I require at least one character in a certain frame of mind and everything else can play off of that.
I will say, though, that season 5's first four episodes have given me a little more juice to run on, and as soon as I finish up clone wars and catch up to rebels, I'll be rewatching the first four seasons for additional fuel.
I will patiently await awesomeness.
I adore Prominence, but I'm pretty patient. Good things come to those who wait.
I've been following Starlight Over Detrot for almost two years now, I can wait for this as well. I will offer advice and say it helps to not limit yourself to one avenue of expression. Working on multiple projects (be they fiction or otherwise) helps keep the juices flowing, and allows you to draw inspiration from multiple sources.
3014437 I was doing that for a little while, but I was worried about getting off track with prominence if I kept working on other, non-pony type fics. still, I'll take that under advisement, and work on my other things when I just can't think of anything.
