Why Maud Pie's Tale Ended so Abruptly · 4:12pm Mar 26th, 2015
There have been complains as to how MPBAAP ended too suddenly, and I agree with that. I have a perfectly good reason, however, as to why it ended so abruptly:
I got bored.
I’m very grateful to everyone who liked and favorited and commented on this story, but the thing is, I just don’t feel like writing it anymore. It’s just not entertaining for me.
On the other hand, I despise all those stories who just cancel themselves halfway through. As such, I tried to wrap up things at the end.
Yes, there was the cliffhanger, but to be honest, I don’t really feel like even doing that. I just have other things I want to write, although honestly none of those will probably be published either.
I really am sorry things had to end this way. I hate having to be that whiny author who complains about how he doesn’t want to write the story anymore. But I just don’t feel like writing this anymore.
If there’s overwhelming feedback, I may consider a “Coco Pommel Becomes an Alicorn Princess.” But I’m afraid that is somewhat unlikely.
If it’s any consolation, have this pic a commenter coincidentally found which depicts a scene from the story astonishingly well.
Again, thank you for reading, and have a nice day.
I thought you wrapped the story up on a high note, clearly Maud was unhappy and didn't want to remain a princess forever.
2912804 And that's what i tried to go for. Some people were just unhappy that it ended so suddenly, with the climax and downwards arc spanning all of two chapters.
I thought that it was one of those stories that ended in a situational sitcom loop.
Well, it was a fun ride while it lasted. Thanks for a story!
It was a fun ride, thanks for giving it to us.
And I can sympathise with the getting bored part. I have a non-mlp related story that I started so full of passion & ideas, but though I still have the ideas the passion has cooled somewhat. I suspect that this is mostly because the story has swelled from a simple idea into a multi-chapter epic & trying to keep track of what I myself wrote so the story remains consistant has become quite a chore.
Although I feel that I would like to put it aside & concentrate on the one or 2 ideas I have for an MLP story in which I will make use of what i've learned from that one (not having so many characters for one, sticking with certain POV's for another) I just can't do so until i've gotten this idea into the form I initally wanted & my commenters have said they want to see.
I think you did a good job closing it. I don't think I would have believed any ending where Maud stays an Alicorn and is somehow at peace with it.
I didn't think it seemed abrupt. You had a big confrontation with the bad guy, beat him, end of story, things wrap up.
