Yeah, you heard me. I'm about halfway through the last chapter. It's taking me (too) long to write, because of all the loose ends. I also want to end it in a satisfying manner, and I SUCK at endings. I'm one of the people who was disappointed when a good book ended. I'm just worried some people think that I'm going for a deus-ex-machina ending, which is not my intention. I tried to foreshadow the ending from the start, and most of my readers probably already know what is coming. And I'm happy to tell you that I've also got several ideas on what to write next, so this will not be the end, at least for my writing "career". :p
What's a deus-ex-machina ending?
224433 Latin: "god from the machine", is a plot device whereby a seemingly unsolvable problem is suddenly and abruptly solved with the contrived and unexpected intervention of some new event, character, ability, or object.
For example, Princess Celestia functions as a Deus Ex Machina several times in the FIM series, coming in at the last moment to save the day (for example Lesson Zero). It's more commonly known as an "ass-pull" meaning that the writer couldn't invent a real way to solve the plot, and would just "pull something out of their ass".
