It is an unfortunate truth that this story, while I am indeed still working on it, has for the longest time been in the grips of a deadly hiatus, and unfortunately this isn't going to change any time soon. When I started writing this story (and I must confess at least twelve others currently sitting dusty on my hardrive) it was with the impression that my work, despite being close to full time, would leave me with ample energy at the end of my shifts to continue working diligently on it, even with my already massively slow, ponderous style of writing.

All of you with retail jobs, feel free to mock me mercilessly at this point for my naïveté, but in my defense, my prior work experience as a security guard left me with plenty of time to write while on shift and off, so I assumed that the latter would be true in food service.

I was am a fool.

But I digress, food must be bought and bills must be paid, just as infallibly as the world turns.

However, on a brighter note, I am indeed seeking higher-paying employment to place me in a more fiscally secure situation, so I should hopefully have more time in the near future. In the meantime though, I'm going to take some helpful advice from several friends that boils down to "Just write a little something everyday" to try and get the creative juices flowing again.

Don't worry everybody, this isn't the end, it's just a promise of 'it will continue.'
