Correct me if I'm wrong

So, correct me if I'm wrong about either of these things:

1. If Prince Blueblood is Princess Celestia's nephew and Princess Cadence is Princess Celestia's niece, doesn't that make Blueblood and Cadence brother and sister?

2. If Diamond Tiara just got her cutie mark and the Cutie Mark Crusaders are the only ones left without their cutie marks, doesn't that mean that Diamond Tiara was one of the last blank flanks in the class??

I just have ideas for fics about both of these, and I don't want to write them if they're not correct.

We know that Featherweight, at least, got his cutie mark after Diamond Tiara. I don't recall if we learned when exactly Diamond Tiara got her mark. Her cute-ceanera (Catholic reference for the win!) might have been some significant time after she actually got her mark, unless I misremember the episode.

This would not necessarily dissuade Diamond Tiara from being a bully. Perhaps she is a bully partly because she had to wait so long for her mark, so she takes it out on the last few blank-flanks in class. (Also, what is her special talent?)

Blueblood and Cadence could be niece and nephew if they are the children of different siblings of Celestia. They could be brother and sister, but don't have to be. Problem, of course, is that we know of no siblings of Celestia besides Luna, and they can't be her kids because Luna would have been locked up in the moon when they were born (unless Cadence is an immortal, but she looks like a teenager in the flashbacks).

I think the "official" explanation is that Blueblood is a descendant of one of Celestia's relatives from the distant past, and not a literal nephew. That means the royal family could be quite large if all of Celestia's relatives have kept track of their pedigrees down through the generations. This is, I think, Faust's original explanation, but it's not in the show so it's not quite canon.

You can have more than one niece and nephew and not have them be siblings. For example, my father's side is real big, so he has a brother with 2 neices and another brother with a neice and a nephew. To those neices and nephews, the others are just cousins. So, at least in my headcanon, Blueblood and Cadance are cousins, not siblings.
