Saying no is useless. You know it's right. · 7:06am Jul 5th, 2012

When I get ideas for writing, I get them. They come at me without mercy, without stopping, crowding my brain like some kind of infinitely expanding balloon that never pops, just keeps growing and growing.

I have, like, a billion of them.

A. Billion. Of them.

That's nine hundred ninety nine million nine hundred ninety nine thousand nine hundred ninety nine more than one.

And that's just awful.

Ideas about worlds that will only ever be glimpsed just once as I shoot by on to projects I have chosen to work on. It's like trying to determine everything about a place just from getting one whiff of its scent, one touch of its soil, one sip of its water. So many places and things and ponies that will only ever be fleeting memories, stored in compact form as synopses, titles, or blurbs on my hard drive.

I don't know why I find that so sad. Perhaps it's why I can't let any of them go? Like I owe it to them to keep the memory alive.

I have three whole story ideas that each present a new and unique view of the entire freaking world that ponies live in. I have several crossover ideas. I have one about space ponies that has them battle a space empire run by space Nightmare Moon. In space.

I've watched three lonely ponies trudge across a world full of everything but other ponies.

I've seen Twilight Sparkle as Equestria's greatest hero and its most dour villain.

I've watched Fluttershy struggle against the face of fear itself.

I saw a brave little reporter throw herself into the world of vigilante justice alongside Mare Do Well.

I've watched my little characters in fleeting frozen moments of time, fighting and struggling to secure hope and friendship in locales horrible and comedic, tragic and bursting with joy.

I've seen worlds beyond imagining, dozens of them, and I know one truth is consistent in every last one.

Applejack is best pony.

Applejack is best pony?

Thems fighting words. :duck:

Discord is best pony!!!

I'm going to add to your plight, what if discord switched bodies with Celestia, meaning she was trapped in stone and he was on the throne. What would he do?

You know it's true. :ajsmug:

Oh boy. I know that feeling. I know it so, so very well.

Picking the ones to write about? Damn close to torture.
