    Here's Why

The Adventures of Fragment hasn't updated in almost a year now, and I sure there's someone out there who'd like to know why.

    Well, allow me to explain.

The question is simpler than the answer.

Should a story's amount of likes matter if it's never been in the Featured Box?

Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw On Being Deliberately Offensive

Hatred is a game that is deliberately trying to be offensive. Forgive me if that's obvious to you, but it apparently slipped by some people, who never seemed to grow tired of pointing out that it was offensive, and therefore shouldn't be allowed. You know me, I'm a pretty liberally-minded guy, but I confess to having difficulty following the logic here. Something set out to be

A bit conspiracy theorist, but not wrong.

I agree with some of this. We all do have the ability to do whatever we wish with what short lives we have. But this guy speaks like there is no one who strives to be more than those who sit at the bottom of the political and economic ladders. There are people with the drive to ascend above the ranks of those they find lazy, and therefor become one of these "elite." Humans didn't survive in the past just because we fought together, but mostly because we are the most intelligent species on the planet, and we had the determination to advance as any other animal has. What we should see is not what we have become, but rather why we became this way. No matter how you look at it, either God or nature planted us as a seed, but the only interchangeable factor is what faith you are true to. We were on a path to planetary domination since the beginning. Those who do not follow the path that our forefathers pursued are the ones that will suffer and perish. The weak are never the ones to survive. Instead they are eventually met by a superior challenger, doomed to be forgotten and consumed.

As for the war, well. War will never end. There will always be a reason to fight, always be evil people in the world. There's always gonna be another Adolf Hitler, another Osama bin Laden, another gang of drug dealers that won't hesitate to kill a man unwary enough to stumble into their territory and leave with intent to expose them. As sad as it is, World Peace is not a reality anyone can achieve. We can't persuade these evil men to abandon their ways and welcome all people in open arms regardless of race or sex. No meal for a predator was ever gained without hardship, just as no survival for any docile animal was without a fight. It is nature's way for us to support life through death. We have to help ourselves and fellow peaceful men and women by fending off our predators and rivals, lest they will go to their limits to ensure that we are destroyed.

But this doesn't mean that we must live lives of paranoia, as if our only mission is to fight for our survival. No. There will be times of tranquility, and those are times for us to capitalize on, and that we have. Those of us who worked for themselves brought us something new for the pack of humans that we are do indulge ourselves in. Video games, books, television. Countless methods of entertainment for us to bide our time with. Now this doesn't turn us into the mindless zombies that [insert Youtuber's name here] claims us to be. We are all exposed to these screens, yet some of us still enjoy life to the fullest. I am happy with what I have. I am happy to be exposed to these creations that convey emotions that I would never feel in a life of survival in the world. I am happy to have these tale of sorrow at my disposal. I am happy to see these good-natured characters be put through these struggles only to come out on top. But most of all I am happy that I am able to use these screens as an outlet to express my interests and talents with the rest of the world. If I hadn't discovered Friendship is Magic, I would still be a miserable, bland person who never showed any apparent rays of sunshine. I cried myself to sleep on several nights, looking back at what path I was going down, and thinking about what an enjoyable, bright future I have before me now. All of this because one fantastic woman took an opportunity to create something that people can watch on a screen. don't underestimate the power of a computer or television, because somewhere behind it, there is a person, a human being with real emotions, bringing it to life. Enjoy this life that we have. That we were given. Just make sure that when the time comes, you are willing to fight for it and yourselves.
