So I did this thing for Tag-a-long's Book Club called the #FebFIMFanFicLove FicExchange. I kinda don't feel like retyping it all, so the explanation's at the link. Sorry.
But, pretty much, I joined it, contributed a fic called The Cold Heart of the Moon, and now I'm reviewing a fic called Silence.
It starts off with the conflict right away, with just an introductory sentence. I suppose it sort of works out in this case. Alright. Onwards.
Hmm. It's alright, but everything's just so... tell-y. Barely any description, the dialogue feels forced, and Princess Luna doesn't really sound like Princess Luna. Everything's moving too fast for me to actually care about anything going on.
Oh, surprise surprise. Tonight's show is starring a lovely little prodigy-- and Princess Luna is now omniscient. And so is the filly apparently, cause she's reading minds.
(Sorry)
That was short. Okay then. All in all, it was kinda meh. The premise was actually pretty cool; Princess Luna walking in the dreams of a (spoiler alert) dead filly. The grammar was also very impressive. I don't think I spotted any typos, except maybe one or two. The problem, however, was that everything was short, rather bland, and quick. Nothing was described in detail, emotions felt shallow, and the OC, while pretty cute, was kinda annoying and seemed like nothing but a plot device, not even a person (pony?) of her own. Because of this, the twist at the end didn't actually make me feel anything, nor did any of the serious conversation. Princess Luna, as well, seemed forced and not genuine. So while the fic was nice and all, I don't think I'd give it any better than a five or so out of ten. Sorry.
Have a good evening, everyone!
Oh my gash, that DOES sound amazing...
Congrats on finding that group! ^3^
2771301 It's a fun group. Good stories.
2771313 I had a quick look and found a few that I liked (dammit, I forgot to fave them though...) XD
2771333 That's cool.

Well, that's a fair review. I'm glad you faved it. Anyone who reads my stuff knows that my work doesn't ramble. I like to get to the point of the story as quick as I can as I do not want to bore the reader. (The only crime any writer can commit, after all.)
Sometimes I slam my foot down on the gas a bit too hard. At least you liked something about it.
Thanks for the review.
2778867 Ah, no problem. Despite everything, it was still interesting. I'll be stalking you sometime soon.
