Benjamin "Ben" Fields is the second son of William and Lucy Fields. Born in Emmerdale, Ben grew up helping on Green Fields farm with his little sister, Elizabeth. While he suffers from myocarditis, a scarring in his heart, he tries his best at anything that tries his limit. While it affects his athletics he makes up for in knowledge in carpentry and machinery. His lack of patience and anger-control gets the best of him at times and he lashes out without thinking. His skill in drawing and music keeps him from anger and stress. His intelligence is limited within math, biology and geography so asking him for directions is not recommended. Not unless you want to get lost. He consider himself to be a decent cook but usually leaves it to simple cooking, instead focusing on using his muscle instead of his brain.
While in Equestria he's known to be a little hot-headed but a skilled carpenter. While some think it cancel out the bads, others say that he got more bad than good. He is a very loving young man with foals as noticed with interactions between him and the Cutie-Mark Crusaders, especially Apple Bloom. But he's sometimes butting heads with Applejack due to the similarity in personalities. Twilight theories that Applejack is Ben in pony form but as a mare instead. He's also known to have a soft spot for Fluttershy.
