It may not come as a surprise that I've stopped working on my two fanfics. Reasons are simple as my intrest and passion for this fandom is cooling. So, as to not leave most blue balled about what's going to happen here's the abridged version:
After Ben's revelation he ends up depressed and goes to a pub in Canterlot and gets himself drunk. He makes a deal with Vinyl to court her friend Octavia. Days after he meets her in the pub and to his horror he finds out that Octavia's voice and hairstyle is an exact match to his former girlfriend. Instead of courting she talls him that Vinyl needs a "coltfriend" more than her. Ben tries and he and Vinyl hits it off, making them a couple through the rest of the story.
At certain points of the story Ben's health takes hits and he becomes at few points put in the hospital and goes through a certain magic dialysis to improve his health by insert magic to his bloodstream to fix his heart. Doesn't work but it helps his health considerably.
The turning point becomes the Dragon Migration. Taking some inspiration from Hands but deviating, Ben joins the gang, sans Fluttershy, at watching the dragons. After joing them at the library, Ben encourages Spike to join the dragons. It's not until after Spike leaves that he and the girls decide to follow him and Ben gets a Dragon suit mixed with an Illusion Spell to make him look like a older Spike. When they leave two dragons grab Ben but he breaks free... only to tumble down the cliffside and to his horror, the fall breaks a few vials. Among them was an elixir to counteract the effects of the Enhancement Elixir used during the Cider Chapter. Feeling not only his health decrease but the after-effects of the Enhancement takes a toll. Managing to power through he saves Spike and takes him to the awaiting group only to faint and his heart stopping. A small chapter from Rarity's perspective on how she performs CPR on Ben while Rainbow rushes him to the hospital takes place.
The chapter following is Ben dying but in the end is saved when the doctor Gentle Heart comes in time to perform surgery. Managing to heal some parts of Ben's damaged heart.
Ben, now a lot healthier has a few minor chapters where he does some work around Ponyville and spending time with Vinyl.
The last three chapters are the Canterlot Wedding. Ben is invited to make the alter and not much else. He proposes to Vinyl. The second to last chapter named "All Good Things" is Ben and the girls fighting the Changelings and his health degrades as he pushes himself too much. He faces and attempts to distract Crysalis but is wounded and thown out the window, breaking his neck in the fall and dies. The final chapter "Comes to an End" is the ponies gathering around a deceased Ben, mourning his death.
The sequel starts with the ponies gathering to Ben's funeral(Dearly Beloved). Chapters following is about the ponies closest to Ben;
Big Mac(My Li'l Brother) Mac visits Ben's grave a week after the funeral and laments on how similar Ben's death was to his parents and how he saw him as a little brother.
Spike(We were kinda alike) tells how Ben and Spike saw likeness in being outsiders.
Zecora(No rhyme for Sorrow) shows us that Zecora had an infatuation for Ben and is now heart-broken over his death.
Celestia(Gods and Mortals) basically is Celestia telling Luna that the curse is seeing mortals die while they live on.
Octavia(Maybe there was Something There) starts to realize that she held a small crush for him.
Applejack(Like Mirrors) thinks of all the things they shared in both mannerism and personality.
Pinkie Pie(His Final Party) while keeping her cheer thinks back to how Ben was when she invited him to her parties, that he couldn't do much due to his condition.
Rarity(Why I Loved Him) is holed up in her boutique and tries to get inspired but her thoughts over Ben prevents her from fully express herself and she finally tells Sweetie Belle that in some way she loved Ben as more than a friend.
Rainbow Dash(Clouds and Drops of Rain) Like Rarity, Rainbow is holed up in her home lamenting Ben's passing and starts to gently weep over his death
Fluttershy(How His Heart Mattered) while taking care of her animals remembers when Ben helped her and how his heart, while damaged, still held strength to never give in
Twilight(My Failure) tries to think of how she could've prevented Ben's death but despite all theories, she would fail.
Applebloom(From the Strangest Places) and her friends encounters Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon who, in a rare show of sympathy, sends her sincerest condolences over her brother's death.
Vinyl Scratch(It Was Supposed To Be US) heartbroken and emotionally broken laments that for the first time in a long time she could've been happy. It could've been her happy ending. It was supposed to be her and Ben.
So, as a sad as I am that the story would never be finished... there is the end line. Sorry.
