A New Year, A New Plan... The Plan 00 · 8:27am Jan 4th, 2015
Okay, so apparently a few people actually like the Infinity's End story, and even its little prequel we have going. Well, what if we told you it wasn't quite done the way it was intended? What if we told you, there was a plan?
Hey there everybody, Dollars speaking, I'd like to talk about my main story here at JakeAndDollars. Now, as I'm sure more than just a few of you are probably aware, Infinity's End is my first story here on Fim Fiction, and as such started off much the same way I did when it came to writing, slow, shaky, and indecisive. It took months for me to even figure out my first chapter, wound up writing it out by hand in an old notebook and handing it over to Jake to stare at with a raised eyebrow, and not in a good way. None the less I kept at it for a bit, got a few more chapters tossed together, almost literally, and figured that it was about good enough. Then, as more and more of it began to come together I realized just how much potential this thing had if done right, it thrilled me to think I could wright something people might actually want to read. So, with these thoughts in mind I racked my brain for ideas on exactly where I wanted for this to go, admittedly in the beginning I basically just dove in hoping for the best. I found myself with a decent enough beginning, but was soon lacking a middle, my end being little more than a vague idea swimming around in murky water.
Having spent considerable time thinking on all this I've come up with a plan, a plan not all of you will like, but a plan that should make things much better in the end. First thing's first, the Chronicles story will no longer be just a short prequel, it will be marked as on hiatus. Don't panic, this should prove to be a very brief delay. Basically what I would like to do is go through and rebuild it, filling in all the necessary pieces that got left out, tweak a few things, build up the characters. You know, things like that. While it is on this hiatus, it will be finished, given a final polish and then published in place of the old one resulting in a much more fleshed out and enjoyable read.
That's still not all either. Infinity's End is going to become much larger than I initially conceived, based off the current word count I'm guessing just over a million words, if not more. As such I've decided to split it into a series of books, Each one bearing its own name while still under the main title of Infinity's End. These plans and many others are now currently in motion and will eventually be further explained in additional blog posts as we get closer to implementing them. These posts will be collectively known as, "The Plan" so keep an eye out for those if they should interest you.
Again, I would just like to thank anyone taking the time for this and commenting on our works, we really appreciate it! And if any of you have questions don't hesitate to ask or to leave suggestions as we'll be listening, to be honest the only reason I'm even still doing this is because of you.
