New Years resolution (or an excuse to praise) · 4:15am Dec 30th, 2014
With New Year's Eve right around the corner I bet many of you are making your resolutions for the new year, and if you're curious what my resolution is (I'm sure there must be at least one of you) it's actually pretty simple. I find swearing to do one thing all year feels more like a burden than a goal to better one's self so about a year ago I changed it to one end goal: I want to be more like Joshscorcher
For those of you who aren't in the loop or just don't care enough to ask this is Commander FireBrand AKA The Fiery Joker AKA Joshua Burner. He's a marine, he's a countdown artist, and (obviously) he is a brony who i've come to admire quite a bit for several reasons.
1. The first is his inspirational attitude; when I first joined the brony community I was a bit hesitant as to what I would find and if I would just end up embarrassing myself. But Josh was the one who actually inspired me to join the community with his MLP reviews and seeing all the cool stuff he did and all the art people created of his OC (like the one you see above) gave me an idea of what this community was capable of doing, so I dived in headfirst and i've never looked back since.
2. The second is what he does; i've seen a lot of his work and it just blows me away. He always has something interesting or funny to say, his opinions are interesting and sometimes really get me to think, and the work that he does with other creators is inspiring and always a great thing to witness.
3. Finally, he just seems like a really great guy. I know it sounds lame but he's shown a lot of traits that I really admire: He's confident, friendly (to most people), he believes in chivalry and always sticking to his morales, but honestly I think one of his best moments was when he talked to Dr. Wolf about his problems; it showed him as a person and not just a personality.
In conclusion, Josh is a really good guy and I try to follow his examples during the year: I stick to what I believe is right, I will always stand by my friends and family, I will try not to lash out in anger, i'll do what I love, and most importantly: I will try to be as nice as I can to everyone because everybody deserves a chance.
And if by some chance you're reading this Josh, you're awesome. Keep doing what you're doing man.
