To my rather intense surprise, Tales of an Enslaved Equestria, which started as a exercise to let out some darker writing, has grabbed my attention! I'd like to use this blog post as a poll of sorts. What do you all think of it so far, and would you like to see this story continue on? What do you think it could use? Any OC ideas? ^___^
If you've followed me this far, I know that you are a fan of darker material, and I'd like to count myself among a few authors who try to tackle these subjects responsibly. I make no apologies for it, and I will continue to work on my darker stories such as this, the ToaNEverse, and the ReBeat (Rekindling and Beats)verse.
As long as the Centaur get their just desserts for their horrible crimes against the ponies and ponykind can earn their happy ending, I'd like to see the story continue. I would like a little more focus on Beats of Life and Rekindling though.
You do what you want but I wish you would update Rekindling and Beats of Life.
2662370 I definitely agree with you on all those points, my friend. (But especially on the bit about the Centaurs getting their just desserts.)
I also want to see the ponies get their happy ending, and for Tirek and Sombra to be good guys who are totally on the ponies side in this one. I can't wait to see what Taelea does with this idea!
And I think it goes without saying that I definitely want to see this story continue, as who knows what you, Taelea, my dear, have in store for us on down the line in it?! Dark and gore doesn't bother me in the slightest!
(Well, that actually depends a lot on the fic, but you get my drift.)
And while I haven't yet read Beats of Life (I'm going to soon, though), I would love to see an update to Rekindling, as well as Dawn's Twilight, ToaNE: Rise, Renewal, and the return of that one cross-dimensional story that you accidentally un-submitted awhile back (you know, the one where human versions of our fave Equestrians escaped from a bunch of Spiderlings and Griffonians (?) after the loss of the Apple Family, Twilight, Celestia; etc.; to the regular Pony Equestria that had suffered an attack of Spiders (like the ones in Renewal), as well as the loss of Rainbow Dash, Luna, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle; etc.?). I'm still looking forward to the return of that one!
Funny you should have mentioned OCs, though. Weirdly enough, I've had this scenario running through my head about my OC, Wolf, and her adopted tribe (the latter of which fled Equestria just before the Centaurs invaded and conquered it (Wolf and her parents (who later abandoned her and her younger sister, Scootaloo) were born in freedom, and have been in hiding ever since) joining in on the rebellion against the Centaurs.
But that's just what was running in my head. Sombra was in it, but after reading the newest chapter, you, my dear authoress, kind shot my scenario about him right out of the water where he's concerned!
Which is only right and proper, as it's your story, after all.
Oh, well. It was just my over-active imagination runnin' with a half-baked idea of my own, anyway.
And I just remembered that you never did answer my question as to where Scoots is in all this craziness. Where is she, anyway?
Or is she not in it?
I like dark tales, the world isn't a nice happy place. And the struggle should be hard, Ponys should die, and even if they win the cost should be huge. The centaurs should bleed yes, but in a realistic way. Not "look! we hit u wiz rainbows and u go away" way. There needs to be blood and there needs to be struggle.
I see "Together as One" is invisible to standard listings again... any particular reason, or is it just on the way back burner again?
