I don't really make a habit of replying to comments except in a few rare cases, and even then I usually keep said comments out of the actual story feed and use PMs instead. There are a few reasons for this.
First, I feel that my contribution to the discussion should start and stop with the actual story. However my story is interpreted should be left up to the readers to decide and comment on, whether through Up-votes, Down-votes, or passionate rants.
Second, I'm playing at an advantage when it comes to these comments. I know what's going to happen in the story in the future, and I'm privy to a lot of information that the reader is not, and it's tempting to use that knowledge at times when I really shouldn't.
Third, it's far too easy to get into an argument because of point number two, and those really only hurt me in the end, even on the rare occasion that I'm unquestionably in the right.
However...I really enjoy comments. I enjoy feedback and I really like it when someone appreciates my story. In the end, the comments I get here are really the only thing I'm going to get from this story outside of personal gain, so starting from my latest chapter, I am going to try and reply to the comments I get...while also observing a few personal rules.
1) I will not debate head-cannon, I will only discuss how it is displayed in the stories I write.
2) I will not respond to inflammatory insults or direct attacks.
3) I will not provide spoilers, future information, or answer questions that could possibly reveal later parts of the story. You can expect any such questions to be responded to with something along the lines of, "Can neither confirm nor deny."
4) In order to avoid getting into an argument or heated debate and to avoid flooding the comment section, I will only reply to each comment (per chapter) once. Anything further will have to happen in PMs.
5) I will not discuss Flash Sentry. No, don't ask why, I'm not discussing that either. Even if I write a story about Flash Sentry I still won't discuss him.
So with that said, please enjoy me inflicting my personality on you even more than usual. See you in the comments!
