Wanted: Editor · 2:12pm Dec 8th, 2014
For reasons that I will not speak of, my editor and I have had to part ways. While I will miss working with him and wish him the best, this does still leave me in the position of requiring a new editor/pre-reader for this project.
In the meantime, I will have to just double-down on my self-editing efforts and rely on post-publishing edits to cover my failings.
Because you will never find an answer faster than by posting something wrong on the internet.
I'm sorry to hear that you and your editor had to go your separate ways. Over time, a writer and editor/pre-reader grow rather close. That being said, I'd like to throw my hat into the ring for the position of editor. If you'd like some examples of my editing work, simply look at virtually anything by TittySparkles. I've also been editing for Ruirik, The 24th Pegasus, and LoyalLiar. I look forward to hearing back from you.

I'll throw my hat into the ring. I can't really offer much in the way of examples of my editing prowess, but if you're willing to take my word for it, I am competent and know my way around sentence structure and spotting mistakes.

Well, we got two contenders, so I guess we'll have to settle this with a dual--pistols at dawn!
Actually, that sounds like a horrible idea. How about instead I just give you both a copy of chapter three to edit? That way I get to see first-hand the measure of your editing chops.

Both sound reasonable, but I'll differ to your preferred method.
Also, I feel like a bit of an idiot using the "hat in the ring" phrase seeing now that SolidFire used it prior to me. I blame the fact that I was typing on my phone and was at work.

That idea sounds good enough. Either works actually, but I'd rather not have to shoot someone. I assume you use GDocs, correct?

Yes, they are GDocs, and they should be set up such that they can be commented or edited. I'll PM you the links.
