My harddrive crashed. Just like that. Seems now I'll be forced to buy a whole new computer (last one was about 6 years old, and would probably cost more to repair than buying a new system)
I know that feel, bro. I once had that little motherboard battery die on me, wiping the entire hard drive and operating system. The computer was left technically fine, just completely empty of any data. Yes, this can happen. And it sucks.
Same thing happened to me a month or so ago. My 6-year-old laptop finally just gave up the ghost, taking a lot of personal files and some schoolwork with it. Just like yours, it'd be more expensive to fix it than to just buy a new computer. I'm working with a rental right now, since a student budget isn't exactly enough for a new computer, but at least I have something.
OH!! The same thing happened to me!! The hard drive crashed, and the same day, the screen broke! I use my mother's cpu cause i'm one broke pup here.
