And now another near perfect gem from the author who gave us Eternal. He really needs to write more for me to read. This one is about 80% worldbuilding about how pegasi view the sky, about 20% romance. Well, that breakdown by content. Thematically those numbers are probably flipped. There is no dialogue or really anything happening except a pegasi falling from the sky and you don’t even find out why until near the end. Though it is only 3k words long so near the end isn’t too far from the start. This is another great example of unusual storytelling in that the whole thing is a single internal monologue during a single moment in time. Now I want to read a full length story about the romance hinted in this, maybe a sequel too.

This one is basically fan fiction of another piece of fan fiction. As in one author writing a unoffical story set in the world of another author’s fan fiction series. It fits quite well into the Cadance of Cloudsdale cycle written by Skywriter. Of which How To Remove A Unicorn Tooth is the current more or less start.

A bit disappointing. I was hoping to read over the top cop adventures. Got random crazy Princess Celestia royal guards events instead. The top cop characters were lots of fun, but the events of the story were, well, more or less random and not in a good way. In addition there was too much pointless doctor whooves stuff mixed in. The intro scene of the story was the best part and I really wish the rest of the story had been that sort of thing. When I read the story description and then enjoyed the intro I had this awesome idea that these two cops were why there was no crime in Ponyville. That the collateral damage from these two cops was so high that crime simply wasn’t worth it. In a world where a surprise party leads to insanity and not having a letter to write by the dealine leads to town-wide mind control, of course something as simply as breaking and entering would lead to entire city blocks getting destroyed.

Dang, this one was really good. Even better than I had expected. This is a grand example of a time loop story told right and the character Blueblood was excellently written. Which shouldn’t be that big a surprise given that both are using the movie Groundhog’s Day as a framework and that is one of the best examples of time loop storytelling. I am looking forward to reading more by this author, especially the sequel. Which doesn’t involve time loops at all, but will probably be just as well written with great characters.

The premise is the most interesting thing about this story. I’d rate this average/mediocre. Nothing else to say about it really.
