Rock a Doodle · 6:18am Nov 8th, 2014

So I was watching old Nostalgia Critic videos, and I came across his video for Rock a doodle. And then I found out Rock a Doodle was actually on Netflicks. So I rewatched it...and it wasn't as bad as I remembered it being. It was a cute, weird little kids movie. Yes, why did the sun rise that one time without him? That is a GLARING plothole. But it was still a cute movie. So my question is this. Would anyone be averse to a Rock a Doodle crossover, featuring Edmund?

My thought process was this. The Grand Duke of Owls spent the last 20 years regaining his strength, and finally resurfaces to take out what he views as the greatest threat to his plans. The young human that had managed to thwart them all that time ago. Even having been turned into a weak, pathetic little kitten, he had STILL managed to ruin everything. So what do you do? Take the little brat and throw him into another world entirely.

So, anyone interested?

Oh, I'd read the *bleep* out of that. Loved that movie as a kid.

Don't know why, but surreal and scary stuff never really frightened me.

Oh, and my explanation for the sun, that one time? Chanticleer helps raise the sun with his crowing, right?

So obviously the poor rooster didn't realize all that help had given the sun enough inertia over the years, to rise at least a few times without help!

Yeah, I was a weird kid. :twilightsheepish:

Was?~:pinkiecrazy:

Still, I had a fun time imagining this conversation between Edmund and Celestia.

"Your sun is raised by...a rooster?"

"Now, you see I realized my mistake from the last time." He loomed over me, his feathered crown bobbing with his words. "I simply made a miscalculation as to how easily you all would return. So now...I have rectified that mistake." His beak opened wide, magic dust spilling forth like fog, "You want to see your precious Chanticleer again? I think I'll oblige that request. You see, the last time I simply made him run off to the city. This time however, I banished him to a different world entirely!" He started to laugh , his wings stretched outward as his cape billowed out behind him. "This time he'll never make it back, this time he'll never recover at all!" He stopped laughing, fixing me with a sullen grin. "For what better world to send him to, than one where he is entirely...pointless?"

You know, I don't think I've ever read a single story were another —for lack of a better term, sun god shows up, and s/he and Celestia exchange professional small talk.

A bit weird, but think that could be neat. :rainbowkiss:

May I recomend taking this idea to the crossover group's forum, though? If you're really going forward with this, it might give you quite a bit more feedback.
