Like when you fave, please

I have 54 faves, but only 39 likes. Why? Is there something wrong with liking a story when you fave it? I might get more attention if I had more likes, and there would be more people giving me feedback. Since this would allow me to improve my writing, it would be a win-win situation, wouldn't it? I'd get more attention, and you'd get better reading material. So how about those likes? Don't stop giving faves, of course, but please feel free to give likes to go with them.

Also, how do you like my portrayal of the characters so far?
