An Update on Chapter V

9,000 words so far and going strong, but I've been caught up with personal issues so I'm not sure when I can get it out. Middle of next month is the best guess I can offer, but we'll see what happens. And yes, I know what I said repeatedly about making chapters shorter. Sorry.

Flashbacks have a tendency to stump me, especially when it's one of the elder Princesses contrasted against old Bluey. But I think they're important not only for the plot, but also to contrast their rule with their unworthy nephew. My current plans have one between Princess Luna and Blueblood and another one with Princess Celestia. They shouldn't be as depressing as the last one, though. I'm of a mind to bring in the past crises, to be honest.

Also there'll be a cringeworthy (based on my writing skills, or lack of in that department) but arguably necessary scene which I will add to the next chapter. And we'll add yet another pony to the Royal Council, but he'll largely be a cipher. Or not. We'll see about that, too. Heck, even I need a list - though it's mainly for the titles and stuff. If there's enough demand for it I might stick a complete list (sorted somehow) in an appendix or on my blog.

In addition monetary policy might come up sometime. Might. Economics isn't really my thing, so apologies in advance. I like to research some stuff in advance before inserting into the fic - adds a bit of 'realism' and gives me something to do when I've got writer's block - but economics really, really isn't my thing.

But hey, it might involve the Elements, so that'll be fun.
