Chapter 29: Return of Chaos – The Great Game
I've started to try to keep on an editing buffer so I can get these releases out more on time. But with school ramping up, you know how it is.
I'll try to get more chapters out in faster succession though! All that's really left is to edit and add the bibliography to the remaining chapters! (which is a lot of work in itself, but I'll always do my best!)
If only fimfiction's formatting system wasn't such a pain. If it wasn't for that googledocs upload function I don't know what I'd do.
Anyways, back to the chapter stuff!

Actually, I think that might be all I've got! Nothing too much to discuss here. It was fun writing it! I think in this chapter you really see how closely I work with the show; I think this is the most show-transcription heavy of them all!
Something I really like to do is to add relevance to things from the show. After all, to a conspiracy theorist, everything is fair game, right? So with Loose Change's theories, a moment as inconspicuous as the meeting at the end of The Best Night Ever now has a new meaning behind it.
As I've probably said before, while it may seem like otherwise with all of Loose Change's outlooks, this fic really is written out of love for the show. So getting to tie things these show-events together in such a fashion is just as fun for me to write as it is to read!
A lot of the show's events here are actually ripe for conspiracy analysis. Like Spike's whole role in things during Discord's return, and why the hell Celestia didn't do anything substantial when shit went down. Don't get me wrong, The Return of Harmony is one of my favorite episodes, but sometimes it's fun to break it down and look at it from another's viewpoint.
And the Crazy Larry subplot finally reaches a sort of a conclusion. I had difficulty fitting in this conclusion into the fic, and I decided just to put it in as a letter in the beginning. It would be difficult to get all that in the middle of the chapter without some kind of break up of flow, so just think of it as Loose Change slipping a copy of the letter into the essay by accident!
Also, on the topic of Crazy Larry, I've recently realized how I decided upon the name. At the very beginning of the chapter, I wanted to think of a good name for a homeless pony (and the pun names weren't getting anywhere for me), and on a whim, I went with the most homeless-sounding name off the top of my head, Crazy Larry.
But upon rewatching some favorite YouTube videos, I came across Mega64's(check their stuff out, they're absolutely superb) "Gnomon School of Visual Effects Commercial".
And there it was. (at 1:00)
He even has a picture and everything! I just found it funny how that must've stuck in my brain without me ever remembering. The subconscious really does work in some marvelous ways, huh?
Wow, I wrote down more than I expected. Well, I guess I did have a lot of things to talk about, huh?
As a last aside, I'd really appreciate it if you guys would leave more comments! It really does mean a lot to me to see people's opinions on how the story is going, if some things need more explaining, or your thoughts on some of the jokes. I really do love it all!
Even constructive criticism is well-welcomed! (god knows I haven't made tons of mistakes in the fic that I only noticed wayy after its release and had to fix later) I'd just like to have a little more communication with my readers; learn a bit about them and hear how they feel about the fic!
