Hate on my story · 11:10am Sep 7th, 2014
Hi, this is Carly S. (AKA Vel Valentine) and I would like to have a talk with you readers about my story, The World VS Me. I just don't understand why there is so much hate for a story when it is just the prologue, and for all you know, those characters won't even exists in the following chapters and there will be a better plot. Just being a kid, I don't understand why you post such rude comments, though I know it happens. Please, explain why you don't like my story, and maybe even suggest an idea. Anything will help. Just. Please. Stop. The hate.
Carly S.
But now you don't have to worry because I deleted my hard work, for you guys.
It being a prologue implied that at least some elements would be carried over and the description seemingly confirmed that. I think what people didn't like was that your OC was turned into essentially the most important pony of all (unless it actually was a delusion, as had been suggested in the comments).
Yes, Adan, you are correct, and I don't see why people still hate it. It's just a prologue, and that won't even happen in the following chapters. But since there was so much hate, I deleted my story. But I still do not comprehend why my OC being the most important was so horrible. Is there anything wrong with that (please do not respond rudely)?
Carly S.
2435623 If your OC "deserved" to be so important, people would be more forgiving. It still wouldn't prevent all that dislike though.
But it's just a story. Of course my OC must be the main character because the story is about her. But why does that make all the hate? It's like saying, oh, Katniss Everdeen doesn't deserve to be so important in The Hunger Games. Of COURSE she does! She's the main character! What's wrong about having enough creativity to come up with a character and make them the main one. It's like hating Tris Prior for being the star of Divergent. Why all the hate for my characters? They didn't do anything to you, so I don't want people doing anything to THEM.
Carly S.
2435765 Setsuna: Calling her the only "real" pony is what angered people. Well, and then it seemingly being true. We knew literally nothing about your OC and then the whole world was reworked to revolve around her.
That's the point. It's making up a character you know nothing about, in order to make up a story about them. If you already knew about her, then why would it be interesting? Like, would it be better if instead of her, it was Pinkie Pie or Fluttershy? But I think it's okay, and I understand that not everypony is happy with my work. That is exactly why the story does not exist anymore. Please, then any other ideas to make a better story?
Carly S.
2436038 That's not what I meant.
Then is there anything you suggest?
2436144 Well, at the very least, build up your protagonists more before you say things like everyone they ever knew was a robot.
Okay that is a good idea but the point was that it was SUDDEN and that that character did not appear later on.
Carly S.
No. It was on top of my to read list. Dang....
I'm so, very sorry. But since so many bad comments and dislikes were implied, I had to delete it. If I ever make another story that everypony hates, I'll leave it around longer so you can read it. Please, there is no need to keep hating my story since it's in the past, but I will accept any recommendations for stories in the future.

Actually, I'd argue this is one of the reasons I am so sore of that series.

Your world should never revolve around one singular character's existence. Ideally your major characters should be like an electron shell, all equally upholding the world they inhabit.
2453865 That is a good idea. Now, I won't make these mistakes in the future anymore. I really thank everypony for helping me, though I really don't tolerate rude comments. But thanks, really. I appreciate that everybody took their time to explain that to me.

No problem. Contrary to popular belief, I'm a hard reviewer because I want to see people improve, not just to be a jackass.
