Just some rambling. · 2:31pm Jun 12th, 2012
Well, I felt like making another blog post, so why the hay not? I've been very busy with When Harmony Reigns, gathering people's opinions on the first two chapters of the story rather than just the idea for it (those two chapters are already over 9000 words in length (I am not even kidding, 9033 words) so I think the story will have very, very little trouble with overtaking Greener Pastures in word count within two more chapters) so yeah, that story is coming along nicely, for one I haven't even published yet.
The reason I haven't published it yet is a simple one. I fear that the story is going to go by unnoticed, and I'll lose interest in it due to lack of response. I've already put more effort into this than I have in Greener Pastures (not proud of this fact, but it's true), and a part of me feels like I'd be better off just writing the whole thing to take motivation out of the equation. That said, I've got four people proofreading the story, although one of them pretty much blindly agrees with almost everything I write (no offense to him, I love having him around. Three people actively working to find mistakes in your story can be a pain to listen to.) and they're all three (four) of them excellent at what they're doing.
My editor for Greener Pastures has gone missing for a while, so it'll be another few days at least before chapter 7 of that goes up, but should I find myself in the mood to write more I can always start on chapter 8 and have that done a little earlier. Yes, When Harmony Reigns has been getting far, far more attention than Greener Pastures has, but I really am very enthusiastic about the story.
Now, as a reward for those of you who actually found this blog post, the (current, for I'm still not sure about it) description of When Harmony Reigns:
When Harmony, Celestia and Luna's long lost mother, returns, the two sisters aren't completely sure of their mother's return. Their suspicions clear, however, and Celestia lets her mother take her rightful place on the throne.
Harmony quickly proves that their suspicions weren't completely unjustified, as she starts a rule of tyranny, in hopes of creating what is, in her mind, the perfect harmony. What will happen to Celestia, who is forced to rebel against her own family once again, and what has caused Harmony's desire to spread harmony to grow so significantly?
Progress is slow, in terms of writing, but steady. Yesterday was a strange day, in which my writing was exactly opposite to what it usually is. I was being productive all day (wrote about 4000 words for chapter 2 of When Harmony Reigns, which is a huge accomplishment, for me) except for right around the eleven 'o clock mark, when I'm usually at my best.
Let's see if today can be the same.
