The fate of a character. · 10:12pm Aug 28th, 2014
I have the "happy" ending of The Marked Ones complete, and be it bitter sweet, Celestia and Flash get what they deserve and no one had to die. This is not the ending I had planned when I started chapter one. So, I'm going to hold off publishing the happy ending for now. Just until I get the other ending typed up. I'll only be publishing one, however, the other will be viewable as an unpublished chapter. If I can go uninterrupted for more than ten minutes, I'll have the story finished and readable by tomorrow night.
Also, I am contemplating a prequel that will follow Macabre's father. His real father.
That decision will be based on the reactions to the epilogue. However, there will only be an epilogue if I publish the tragic ending.
Not ever story needs a happy ending. But it's not like I see a tragedy tag on your story. I'll let the fans of that one pitch in. I'm too into dark despair fics that strips the hope away from a character at the last possible moment. :P
Good horror is hard to come by. ^^;
Not saying yours is horror, just speaking of my taste in the dark genre in general. Stuff like Outer Limits, Tales From The Crypt, and many others really are dying breeds. :P
*Sigh* Going against how I feel about tragic endings, I'm gonna go and say tragic. Only and just only because I'd like to see a sequel.... why must you hurt me so?
Just put the ending you had in mind when you first began writing this.
But as a personal preference, I would like a tragic end with an epilogue.
Just publish whichever you think is the stronger ending to your story.
