    The Economics of a Wasteland

    Well.

This is a long overdue post, isn't it? Looking back, I honestly can't believe it's been five years since the last chapter released, and, to get to the point straight away, WEcon is not coming back.

Wherein I admit I'm Terrible at Blogging Regularly

    I'm terrible at blogging regularly.

Really, I am. I know this, and every time I break silence to say "this time will be different," a small part of me knows I can't keep that up. And on top of that I know that back in October I promised y'all Chapter 17 would be out in November. Clearly, that never happened. So let me clear the air on one thing, absolutely and definitively:

Blogpost 6/26/2017 - Where the heck is Chapter 16?

A perfectly justified question and a complicated answer. As a short answer, Chapter 16 has been delayed by a huge project that Pipistrelle had to take on for work. I've actually seen how much of her time it's been demanding of her, and seen her work through most weekends for the past several months. Perhaps I could have tried to release Chapter 16 in a state without her going through the

Blogpost 4/10/17 - Breaking the Silence

Alright, remember when I said that I have a bad habit of keeping quiet if I have nothing to report? Yeah, that kinda happened for a bit there. I got crazy busy IRL (and also maybe a bit too absorbed into NieR Automata), but I return with good news! Chapter 16's draft is complete, and editing has begun!

    Blogpost 2/13/17 - 3 Years of WEcon

Holy shit, 3 years already. It's kind of amazing to me that I've managed to stick with this for as long as I have, and I have y'all to thank for it. Writing this story and seeing people actually enjoy it enough to talk about it in my comments section has been such an emotional rollercoaster, and I know it sounds cliche, but I really, truly cannot thank you guys enough for the joy you've given

WEcon Chapter 5 Status · 3:51pm Aug 11th, 2014

It has been another 8 weeks, hasn't it? Well, this is frankly embarrassing. This time, at least, I can't say it's one of my editors, or some other external force. This time, it was honestly just... me. Every day for weeks on end I'd stare at a few paragraphs, and then move on to a video game or something.

I bought a few commissions, and those helped with my motivation for short bursts, but I honestly was just wrestling with myself over and over and to this day I still can't understand what was stopping me. At any rate, that's the bad news out of the way. The good news is that Chapter 5 was fully drafted as of a week ago, and it's currently in editing. And it's also almost as long as Chapter 4, for what that's worth!

Anyway, I can't promise this sort of two-month gap between chapters won't happen again. Wasteland Economics is my first foray into writing a story longer than the background for a PnP RPG character. For those of you that are still interested in seeing Alloy's story continue, I will never be able to express how grateful I am. While I may not always be on time, I can assure you that I will endeavor to keep the story moving and (hopefully) engaging.

To close out this blog post, I give you arts! Three of these were commissions, and one was requested of artist PencilGuy by a reader (!). He knows who he is, and yes there was a great freak-out when I saw it. Chapter 5 should be coming soon, perhaps another week before I can post it, but in the meantime I hope you enjoy these, and I apologize again for the delay.

First up, it's Grit! A sketch drawn in a stream by Egophiliac!

A picture of Alloy by PonyGryphonRelations! Be warned, the tumblr in the picture is NSFW.

A commission of Alloy and Grit crossing the Ministry of Morale building in chapter 4, this one by Pantzar! I love how the Bayou looks as they leave the office.

And finally, the art requested by Demo on /foe/, another picture of Alloy by PencilGuy.
