Obligatory Bronycon 2014 Summary · 1:40pm Aug 3rd, 2014
While I'm not exactly back home yet (still at the hotel actually, waiting to check out), I figured I'd write a little summary of my mostly-lovely Bronycon 2014 experience. Despite bouts of nausea, I found it to be overall enjoyable!
The badge pickup seemed to go a lot smoother than last year, which was nice. I was only in line for about an hour and a half, compared to 2 hours and 15 minutes of last year.
Friday was decent enough; even though I had to bail out of the cosplay photoshoot early due to not feeling well, I enjoyed the rest of the day. The "paper to ponies" panel was nice, despite Jim taking a shot at those who didn't like EQG. Ech, I say!
Saturday was a lot more fun despite higher levels of nausea. Lots of cosplay panels, as well as the contest. The best part however was the GGG! Hoo boy, that was a blast. Even though I didn't get to ballroom dance very much, it was still very enjoyable! I was really shocked when Twilight came up and said the night was almost over. I looked at my phone and saw the time, and I was like "WTF it's 11 already?! How?!". Also felt quite sad when it was over because I wanted to dance some more! Ah well...next year, I guess. Maybe I'll make a suggestion to schedule more time for the event next year.
With the improvements I made to my Hoity cosplay, I got nothing but glowing compliments from people who took my picture. "Sick cosplay", "Perfect Hoity Toity", etc. But also a bunch of people calling me Fancy Pants, so...yeah. :P Had at least 40 people stop me to take my picture over the two days, as well as tons of photographers being present at the cosplay photoshoots, so I'm expecting a shitload of pictures! Also got a nice, fancy photo of myself from a fellow RI Brony.
As for the Vendor Hall, again this year, I didn't really find anything that caught my eye. The couple of things that I did take notice of, were both really damn overpriced. $85 for a 6-inch plush? ECH!
Not sure if any of you saw me at the convention, but I did run into Jake the Army Guy, which was lovely. Not exactly difficult to find me though, seeing as I was pretty much the only Hoity Toity there! I saw a female Hoity but she was at a vendor booth; didn't see her anywhere else.
Overall, a very lovely time. Can't wait for next year!

I have no idea, tbh. Every bronycon that I've gone to, I got really really nauseous during it, and then felt fine when I got back home, so I can only assume that it has something to do with anxiety making me nauseous.
