Figured I'd just give all of you characters an update on the next chapter!
I just finished writing it, and just shipped it to my editor, so yay! I guess!
Well, some of you may have been wondering what I've been doing over the past few weeks so that I still took awhile to write the crap (even though school is out!) anyway.
Other than trying to snag a job, is that I've been...ahem...studying.
As in, I've been playing the crap out of Fallout over the past couple of weeks. Truth is, prior to when I started to write this story, I hadn't actually played Fallout since Lonesome Road was released, and that was back in September! Gotta refresh my Fallout cookies! Way back then, I wanted to write a Fallout x-over with some sort, be it with Mass Effect or something...but then I took an Applejack in the soul.
To be even more precise, I've been playing to first two as well. This was actually my first time playing the classic ones. I played through Fallout 2 twice over the last couple of weeks! The first time with the vanilla game, the second time with the restoration patch. Despite what some may say, even though they were fun games, I still like the newer ones more, mostly because the old ones are total slaves to the random number god.
I'm currently playing through Fallout 3 with an official 'Isaac Shepard' playthrough! If anyone cares the starting SPECIAL was...
S:4
P:9
E:5
C:1 (If you're unfamiliar with Fallout charisma is totally useless! Except in 2, where it determines how many followers you can have...I wonder why they've never reused that mechanic...)
I:9
A:6
L:7
Though I'ma take Almost Perfect at 30 (I'm level 29 now!)
TL;DR the chapter is currently being edited and I've been playing the crap out of Fallout.
Well, great!
Now I have something to look forward to
HE LIVES!
Glad to hear that you've been 'studying'... In my opinion, Fallout 3 was the best. Although 1, 2 and New Vegas are good games, 3 just gets me right in my heart...
YES!
I have been waiting for this since EVER!
Cheers!
There were very few reasons in the world that would excuse you from being this late. However, this is one of those few. Hopefully Prasopchai doesn't take as long as last time...
now we wait for the editor.... EVRYPONY LETS STALK THE EDITOR!!!!!
159257
How 'bout we don't. Bother me all you want, but leave my editor alone, m'kay?
159288
You're nicer to your editor than I am to mine.
Ooh, it's coming! Good to hear.
Refreshing your knowledge now are you? That's never a bad thing.
I swear, if this takes another two weeks after this...
Nah, take your time. I won't rush you... much.
Charisma actually affects companions in Fallout: New Vegas.
Also, do you play on PC? If so, vanilla or modded? Anyone can answer! (I use a PC with so many mods I sometimes forget which mod changed or added something!)
159593
I play the PC version, and yes, it's modded. Some of the bigger ones I use are WMK, FWE, and MMM.
And I decided to re-read it today. YAY!!!
Also, high Charisma has another use in Fallout 2. Easy money once you reach New Reno (you also need ~8 Agility.)
159622 Do you have AWOP and/or UHNV???
159715
Ah yes...that.
159732
I haven't played NV nearly as much as I have FO3, so my game isn't nearly as modded. And to answer your question, no.
159754 You should do a New Vegas playthrough with Requiem for the Capital Wasteland.
159754 I reccomend both. UHNV is the most popular mod in the "Buildings" category on the Nexus and makes a great home. AWOP adds 10(?) quests and 144 locations. Also, I learned the hard way that enemies don't always drop what they were armed with/wearing. (I fought about 20 heavily armed raiders in power armor. I had atrted with over 100 stims, I left with less than 40. And none of them had the armor they were wearing, and one that had been using a grenade machine gun had only 2 med-x and a silenced .22 pistol with 27 .22LR rounds.)
I played Fallout New Vegas with 'A Requiem for the Capital Wasteland installed' a while back. Pretty buggy at times but it was worth it to play through fo3 before venturing into the Mojave.
