AMA and a poll · 7:23pm Jul 26th, 2014

Ladies and Gentlemen, as the title suggests this is an Ask Me Anything blog and one with a poll for what I should really focus on in the her future. As some of you know I've been working very hard on a collab with the very talented Merc the Jerk and while it's been ridiculously fun and entertaining, it's been draining a lot of my time for when it comes to other fics that I've been trying to pump out, so I'll go ahead and ask you all what exactly I should concentrate on. This thing here will show you the options, I'll give it a few days while I bounce around on the fics in the poll so I can at least try to get a bit more of a head start on these things before really hunkering down and writing a lot of pony things.

Secondly, I may as well do the Ask Me Anything stuff that I've seen going around on this sight. And the title does state AMA, I will not be answering questions about spoilers on my fics, anything else however... is fair game. So ask to your hearts content and I'll do the best I can to answer them promptly with dignity, honor, and respect.

Now for the promotion usual promotion of ScorpDK, and this time it's NOT the princess?! :pinkiegasp:

Okay... I lied, she is a Princess, but you know the ones I mean... Now for the follow up Trixie.

Anyway that's all for now.

Flanagan out.

What areas of Afghanistan did you serve in? (Assuming you were fielded)

2318094
I was never deployed to Afghanistan, the closest I came to actual combat was when I defended the US Embassy in Sana'a, Yemen in the wake of the Arab Spring

Who is your favorite author?

2318793
That's a really tough one, but if I would have to widdle it down I'd have to say J.R.R. Tolkien, I've always been a sucker for unexpected heroes and epic fights. Now as for Comics... Hands down a tie between Grant Morrison and Allen Moore, those two not only know how to write Superman, but they've also had amazing runs on other series, but All-Star Superman and Watchmen will always be my favorite comics.

Why did you choose Luna and Celestia to be the main characters (barring Aedan)of "The Princess and I" and "A Whole New Responsibility"?
What about these characters makes you able to and want to write about them?

There are a three reasons why I chose them to be the main characters, here they are:
1. Luna and Celestia are my favorite characters on the show.
2. We know very little about them, other than they are very long lived powerful beings, so when writing them you can go pretty crazy in that regard.
3. Luna and Celestia sit upon a very large untapped pile of potential, the show doesn't capitalize on it, so I take it upon myself to craft interesting backstories/personalities for them. That's why those two are so fun to write.

I also have a thing for beautiful, powerful women, so that is also a driving factor.

Do ScorpDK do these drawings for you as commission or you just happen to follow him on Deviantart? If it's commission, how much do you pay for each.(I can't imagine you spending an arm and a leg for all those commissions *Bad Joke Eel*)

Do you have any ideas, suggestions and excerpt on how to write a good fighting scene? I got the basic idea but the hardest part is to execute the idea. Since it's my first time writing something like this, I figure I should read some fighting scene excerpts to get an idea on what I'm supposed to write.

Third, what is your favourite pairing?

Lastly, what do you think of this picture?

In order...
1. No I don't commission all the images, but if you ever see a piece done by him that has any reference/relation to DC comics or their characters, it's either because I commissioned/requested it. His commissions are very cheap considering the quality of work he puts into them, if interested you can always look here.
2. Writing a fight scene can be difficult, but as long as you are in the proper mindset it is possible. I'd suggest imagining your character doing the motions in your head at first, then describing what you see, lastly I'd say go into the character's mind, what they're feeling, thinking etc. At least that's how I do fight scenes.
3. Oddly enough I don't really consider myself a shipper, because I look at something for its face value and that's about it. But if you have to know the answers are obvious. Superman and Celestia/Aedan and Luna. Hands down best ships to ever set sail. :trollestia:
4. Looks good, but Luna's foreleg seems a little too human if you ask me.
