I had to get this out of my system. I still like the show, I don’t hate you if you disagree. In fact, I welcome to hear people’s opinions as to why this episode was good or worked.
Alright, because of how much I loath this episode, I decided just to let you all know why I hate this episode. I won’t go too much into more detail then I absolutely have to, and I will try to be funny. Everything big and not just nitpicky are in bold, and I will have a final thoughts at the end of it, and I will try to keep it to about 2 paragraphs. Without further ado,

How does Rainbow know about Hinny of the Hills?

Bad ironic joke is bad
Rarity decides that singing a crappy song is more important then why she came here.
This song sucks, and feels like pandering.
Grumpy Cat
Rarity thinks you can buy karma
Most convenient taxi ever
Dramatic lighting is pink
You cannot tell me that the Mane 6 were able to get back to the hotel, tell the bellhop, give him the dresses, and then the bellhop gets to the hotel RIGHT after Rarity gets there.
I don’t think anyone tips this bellhop normally.
Obvious Antagonist is obvious
Rarity does not remember the worst voice of all time.
Rarity is a smart mare. Even if she wasn’t a business mare, you do not give your masterpiece away like it’s loose change. You just don’t, not unless your Snails trying to get into Trixie’s pants.
That bellhop came with dresses, not an extra bolt of fabric, or multiple from what Rarity says.
Coco is yelled at.
Ordering coffee cliche
Applejack says ‘Get our manes done’. You know you’ll be keeping your hat on, and so do we.
Unless you found the one play troop that does midnight plays after doing them all afternoon, they must be getting back to the hotel at like 5 if they still have a spa appointment and a fancy dinner to go to. Rarity, just go buy fabric and pull an Art of the Dress.
Rarity doesn’t do anything in this scene other then bark orders.
Her friends came to help her, even before knowing about the play. Keep your word. This makes you a part of the problem, not helping.
Rarity needs a 180 degree switch in attitude for the whole sweat shop scene to happen. And this is different from literally any other reaction we’ve seen Rarity have to... anything. I know its supposed to symbolize Suri’s thinking getting to her, but they’ve shared a total of what? 2 minutes together?
That dress is awful, why couldn’t we get a zoom in on that second one. It looks actually competent.

Rarity learns nothing here. She just puts it more eloquently.
Copout on letting a character grow, or even leave
Copout on Coco becoming Rarity’s assistant
I would put no lapdance here, but I suspect that that is the only reason why Rarity isn’t killed by her director or his actors. Plays are time consuming, and tiring, and Rarity just pushed this giant favor onto Coco. That would be like commissioning Flint

I will admit that I probably forgot about some and/or missed some. And some of the ones I got are probably worth multiple sins.
Final Thoughts
Rarity is turned from a smart business mare into an ascetic moron. She literally attempts to buy karma and has to pull some of the biggest boners not only in MLP, but ever, for this to have happened. Everyone gets villianised, not just Rarity, and nothing makes sense. Jokes are bad and few and far in between.
However, this has turned into my Equestria Girls. Thinking about it pisses me off, however, watching it and being allowed commentary is a blast, because like I said I missed stuff. There is so much wrong about this episode, big and small, that it is just fun to tear it apart. Anyways, let me know what you think below. I like discussions, just don’t expect much of a budge on my opinion overall. I really do have a problem with this episode.
