It's Officially 3 O'Clock in the Morning, and I'm Dying · 10:27am Jun 4th, 2012
Not dying of sleep deprivation, but dying of excitement. And worry. And love for this show and its incredible fan base. And... I don't know... a desire for more time.
I work a lot. Not a ton, but a lot. And as much as I want to spend all my time off work writing and reading quality fan fiction, I get distracted. Usually by pretty important stuff... other times not so much. Ugh.
Anyway, sorry for that vague intro. I don't really know anything about blogging... but I have a couple followers who might read this, so that's nice. Maybe (/hopefully) someday I'll have a lot more. People tell me I'll only get famous when I stop trying so hard. I don't buy it.
So here's a few relatively interesting things about me:
1. I like short chapters. As much as I love reading stuff like "Background Pony," 20,000 word chapters drive me bonkers. I prefer 2-8,000, which is what I try to write. I think that's manageable in one sitting. Contrarily, I've been wriggling my way through Chapter 5 of shortskirtsandexplosion's aforementioned masterpiece for, like, two weeks. My brain starts squealing after two thousand words of that art and I have to take a break. Interestingly enough, that "break" involves reading other stories on FiMFiction. Shorter stories.
2. I like MLP because I like music, art, clever story lines, deep characters, and good people. And this show DRIPS with ALL that stuff. Just FYI. Why do you like MLP: FiM? Comment for me. :}
3. My favorite stories on this site (so far) are "It Takes a Village," "My Little Dashie," and the "Pony Psychology" series (and its sequel, "Secrets and Lies"... can't wait for Chapter Three!!). There are a lot of other things I have loved--lots of comedies that made me gasp for air, lots of adorable little one-shots that misted my eyes--but those stated are my favorites. I love finding new, GOOD stuff to read, so I invite anypony who sees these words to give me suggestions! My favorite type of fan fiction is the darker stuff: adventurous, epic, intense... brilliant and clever are also important... and well-written. But I also enjoy the occasional comedy and/or sob-story. So come at me, bronies. Suggest away! (As if my "Read Later" list isn't already overflowing...) If you've read or written something you think I'll like, don't hesitate to comment or send me a PM with the link. Seriously, I'm all eyes!
4. So far I have 4 stories published on this site (and about 8,000,000 buzzing around my head, waiting impatiently for their imminent release). Of those, here are my favorites, in order: "Mantles," "(Un)Healthy Obession," "God, the Devil, and Ponies," and "Spectrum." I'm 4-5 chapters in on all of them, I think... and that's the real source of my "dying" mentioned in the title of this post. Can't I just finish something and focus on one project at a time!? That would make my poor little brain rest so much easier. But no... I do not control the viscosity of my creative juices. Sometimes they creep like morning molasses, and other times they fall Niagara-ly. *sigh* Oh, well. At least my welovefine t-shirts are coming in tomorrow. yay
