On second thought... · 6:49am Jul 6th, 2014

EDIT: Now that my poor mood has worn off, I don't think I'll cancel TMotN. But I also don't think I'm gonna extend it.

I may cancel it altogether.

Not getting any feedback whatsoever is sort of killing my desire to write, honestly. I'd prefer negative feedback to none at all. At least I can learn from the negative.

I dunno, though. Maybe I'll finish it in a chapter or two, and then just sort of...stop writing for a while. I guess only time will tell, really.

Sorry, to anyone that thought upsets, but I'm not the best at handling ambivalence, and that seems to be all I've gotten out of that nearly 5000 word chapter I spent almost two months working on. I'll keep plugging away for the time being, but...I make no promises for the future.

The latest chapter is on my reading list. I haven't had time to check it, though, on account of RL getting in the way.

And that's perfectly fine! ^^ I just was worried about, for example, Shatterwing. He always comments first thing when a new chapter comes out, and two weeks without hearing from him had me worried that the new one was awful. :fluttercry:

On that note, though...I honestly don't think I'll cancel it. I'll probably just finish it as it is now, rather than try to think up extensions for it. If it goes over well, there are still more stories of Night to tell, as I said before.

So, sorry if this post seemed a bit...melodramatic. I was a bit down when I wrote it, and it shows. I'm better now! :twilightsheepish:

Good to hear. Generally speaking, it's never a good idea to make decisions when you're in a bad mood, because moods change but decisions stand. (Admittedly in this case you can just change it back, but still.)

I know it can be disheartening when something you're pouring your soul into gets passed over and ignored (while some other guy's tasteless garbage keeps hitting the feature box), but there's little one can do but keep writing and hoping for the best. If at least one person likes your work, you've done something good.

Yeah, that's basically what I told myself. :twilightsheepish:

I said to myself, I said, "Hey, captain insecurity. Relax and wait a while, jeez. People are busy."
